While reading this article, the issues Tanzania is facing against mining laws and big mining companies such as Barrick and Ashanti came in mind.

We need to hve strong and bold leadership for this fight. We have seen Barrick using Canadian government pressure to force our Government to exempt Barrick and all other Canadian firms from the proposed new law.

Not only that James Sinclair declared to all inverstors that he know for sure that no law will be passed to reverse the previous laws that have benefited the Big Foreign Corporations.

Lesson from Ecuador is that we can stand tall and demand what is right. However, we should not be cornered by any Government just because we receive aid and grants.

I hope our leaders and administrators are Patriotic enough to fight for the best interest of Tanzania and not to protect Sinclair, Barrick and others and wield under pressure from US, Canadian, UK or whatever Government!

Barrick and Ashanti etc, ambazo ziko Tanzania siyo Canadian Company hizi company ziko registered Bermuda, zinatumia mgongo wa Canada, US or UK
