The bundesliga is a professional association football league in germany and the football league with the highest average stadium attendance worldwide.

The bundesliga is contested by 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the bundesliga 2.

Season run from august to may with the winter break of six weeks (mid december through to the end of january).

A total of 53 clubs have competed in the bundesliga since its founding. FC BAYERN MUNICH has won the bundesliga the most winning the tittle 25 times. However the bundesliga has seen other champions with Borussia dortmond, hamburg sv, Werder bremen, Borussia Monchengladbach and VfB Sturttgart the most prominent among them.

BUNDESLIGA TEAM OF THE SEASON 2014/15:
1: Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern München) FC Bayern's No1 has continued to go from strength to strength on the back of a World Cup-winning summer, proving the most reliable, and at times spectacular, last line of defence in Germany's top flight and beating Timo Horn and Yann Sommer with 82% of the votes.

2: Right back: Vierinha (VfL Wolfsburg) 2014/15 has been a breakout season for VfL Wolfsburg and their Portuguese utility man has been one of their unsung heroes of the campaign with his menacing performances down the right flank doing just enough to edge out FC Bayern's Rafinha by just two per cent.

3:
Centre-back: Jerome Boateng (FC Bayern München) Whether as part of a three-man or four-man backline, Boateng remained one of the first names on Pep Guardiola's team sheet and once again underlined his status as one of world football's best central defenders in the current campaign, collecting 69% of the vote.

4:
Centre-back: Naldo (VfL Wolfsburg) With 21% of the vote, Naldo was chosen to partner Boateng in the heart of defence following his tenth and arguably best ever season in Germany's top flight in which he not only asserted himself as the Wolves' defensive stalwart, but also saw him play a direct part in eight goals (six goals, two assists)

5:
Left-back: Ricardo Rodriguez (VfL Wolfsburg) The third Wolves' player to feature in the Team of the Season's backline, Rodriguez's rise to prominence showed no signs of slowing down in 2014/15 and, despite being sidelined in the first half of the season with a thigh injury, the Swiss international has still had a hand in 10 goals (six goals, four assists)

6:
Defensive midfielder: David Alaba (FC Bayern München) He may have only featured in 19 of FC Bayern's league outings this season, but Alaba played a significant role in each and every one of them after adopting a more central role, while his prowess from set-piece situations likely played a big role in his tally of 51 per cent of the votes.

7:
Defensive midfielder: Xabi Alonso (FC Bayern München) Signed in the summer from Real Madrid CF, Alonso grabbed 24 per cent of the poll having immediately asserted himself as FC Bayern's midfield metronome, breaking two Bundesliga records for most touches and most passes completed in a single match against 1. FC Köln

8:
Right winger: Arjen Robben (FC Bayern München) Robben was in the best form of his storied career in 2014/15 before suffering a season-ending injury which robbed FC Bayern of their most important player and the Flying Dutchman the chance to clinch the top goalscorer award. It didn't prevent him from picking up 75 per cent of the votes.

9:
Central attacking midfielder: Kevin De Bruyne (VfL Wolfsburg) Regarded as the frontrunner for the Bundesliga Player of the Season, it comes as no surprise that the Wolves' playmaker extraordinaire picked up 61 per cent of the votes having either scored or set-up 29 of Wolfsburg's 68 goals this season so far

10:
Left winger: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) 2014/15 has been a rough campaign for Borussia Dortmund, but Marco Reus' performances when not sidelined through injury are not only one of the main reasons Jürgen Klopp's sides could still clinch European qualification, but they also earned him 75 per cent of the vote

11:
Striker: Robert Lewandowski (FC Bayern München) A complete striker in every sense of the description, the Pole may have not hit the ground running at first in Munich, but his goals, which included strikes in both encounters with former club Borussia Dortmund, played a pivotal role in guiding the Bavarians to a third straight Bundesliga title

Munich - Struggling for form and goals, FC Bayern München face their biggest challenge of the season as they attempt to overturn a three-goal deficit in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final with FC Barcelona on Tuesday night (kick-off 20:45 CEST/18:45 GMT)

Following a 3-0 defeat at the Nou Camp, FC Bayern need nothing short of a miracle to reach their third final in five years, but hope springs eternal for the under pressure Bavarians on account of their unbeaten home record. "We're Bayern," said Pep Guardiola. "I've never said that we don't have a chance before a game".

There's little change on the injury front for the hosts, with Holger Badstuber, David Alaba, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben all sidelined and Sebastian Rode's inclusion in doubt. Guardiola called for his side to "attack better than in Barcelona", before admitting that Mario Götze is "an option" to start the second leg

In contrast, Barcelona boast a clean bill of health and no suspensions with head coach Luis Enrique able to rest Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta in the 2-0 win over Real Sociedad de Futbol on Saturday. As is the custom in cup games, Marc-Andre ter Stegen will line-up between the sticks

If FC Bayern are to stand any chance of, at the very least, taking a positive result from Tuesday's tussle, Robert Lewandowski is going to have to be on the top of his game. The masked man has been involved in ten goals (five goals, five assists) in 11 outings in Europe this season and will be intent on adding to that tally

Bayern did an acceptable job of keeping the Blaugrana at arm's length in the first leg, until two moments of magic from Lionel Messi in the space of three minutes led to a catastrophic collapse. It may be impossible to silence the Argentinian, but the hosts will have to keep him as quiet as possible

Thomas Müller: "We want to take our chance. We all know we've had better chances in the past, but we're FC Bayern. We'll work out a plan and put it into action, but we know that it won't be easy. We aren't despondent. We're fired up for the game! We'll keep on believing until the referee blows the final whistle."

Marc-Andre ter Stegen: "The Champions League is always special. I believe every player, every fan, every coach wants this trophy. It is unbelievable, and it is one of the greatest achievements you can have in football. And that is what we fight for every day."

Matchday 32's defeat to FC Augsburg was FC Bayern's fourth straight defeat in all competitions. More worryingly perhaps is the fact that the German record titleholders have gone 361 minutes without a goal. In that time frame Barca have all but secured the La Liga title, picked up maximum points, scored 19 and conceded none

FC Bayern won by a scoreline (4-0) that would see them reach this year's final last time they hosted FC Barcelona at the Allianz Arena. That result put an end to the Catalan giants' eight-game unbeaten run on German soil. The visitors have also won 37 of 39 UEFA competition ties after winning the first leg at home

[h=1]BOATENG: ‘WE CAN'T FALL APART LIKE THAT[/h]
We've got nothing to lose anymore and have to give everything we've got in order to prove ourselves

Possible line-ups:
FC Bayern: Neuer - Rafinha, Benatia, Boateng, Bernat - Xabi Alonso - Müller, Lahm, Thiago, Götze - Lewandowski

FC Barcelona: ter Stegen - Dani Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Jordi Alba - Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta - Messi, Suarez, Neymar

Bayern lost at home at the weekend in the Bundesliga yet they have a 100% record in the Allianz Arena in the Champions League this season. In their last two home games in Europe they have scored 13 goals, putting seven past Shaktar in the last 16 and six past Porto in the quarter-finals. The comeback win against the Portuguese side was the first time in UEFA competition that Bayern had overcome a two goal deficit in the first leg to go through. Against Barça they will have to go one better if they are to make it to their 11th Champions League final

Manuel neuer and Alcantara both missed bayern munich final training session b4 their meeting with barcelona but bundesliga champion inssist the pair will be fit for the fixture
