After one week of speculation, Borussia Dortmund completed the signing of Maximilian Philipp from SC Freiburg on Wednesday, with the fee believed to be around €20 million, per Kicker.

The 23-year-old scored nine Bundesliga goals last season for Freiburg, helping them reach the Europa League. Philipp has put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2022.

“BVB is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is an honour for me to be able to play here. I think that at the age of 23 years old I am mature and old enough take this step. I want to develop as a player in Dortmund,” said the German.

Sporting director Michael Zorc is equally as excited at BVB’s new signing.

“We are happy that we have secured the transfer of Maximilian Philipp, who is highly sought after both here in Germany and abroad. He is versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder, he has a good shot and he has a fantastic future ahead of him.“
 
According to SPORTBILD, Hoffenheim have completed the signing of Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen. The news outlet claims that Gnabry’s future is ‘clear’ and that both Hoffenheim and Bremen are waiting for the latter to identify Gnabry’s replacement before officially announcing the transfer.

Werder Bremen are actively seeking a replacement for the Germany U21 international with sporting director Frank Baumann said to have around €10 million at his disposal for the task.
