Kigoma: Four people died and one survived death after eating poisoned food at Kibambila village, Kakonko district.
On duty Doctor at Kakonko Health Center, Ndalikunda Kweka said the victims are from one family and they passed on when nurses were attending them.
Kakonko District Chief Medical Officer, Dr Fadhil Seleman said victims who died were Neema Joseph (12), Jonas Joseph (18), Yusuph Joseph and Majaliwa Joseph (11).
Dr Seleman said the survivor told the hospital they ate ugali, which they supposed, was poisoned.
A father of the deceased children Joseph Kajolo said he came home late and drunk on when unfortunate incident happened and did not eat. He said he did not know if the maize flower was poisoned.
District Commissioner Peter Toima said police officer holding one man for poisoning the children. Toima called upon Kakonko residents to respect and follow the law.
