Frank Nyabundege, failed manager of the failed TIB Bank to lead important TADB Bank

In what seems like an okay selection for the president of tanzania, the infamous frank Nyabundege who previously served as a managing director of TIB corporate bank has been appointed to be the managing director for Tanzania agricultural developement bank(TADB).

He was suspended by the bank of Tanzania (Bot) for poor performance and management of TIB Corporate bank in 2019.

Will he be able to manage a well and important TADB, that has serve many poor farmers with affordable loans and machineries? Is there any vetting procedure that has been done prior selection to ensure that his history of failure is checked carefully?.

That remains to be a topic of debate, before he turns another bank into a failed list of tanzanian's bank.

There so many reasons that lead banks to performing poorly, not necessarily the top management. sometimes intervention in decision making by politicians has in many occasions caused banks to give loans which turn unrecoverable (bad debt) thus leading to bankruptcy. eg THB and TIB. I believe vetting was done before his appointment.

If am not mistaken, he once worked for KCB bank and acted as MD before the decision to bring in a new MD emerged.

May be his performance as acting MD triggered an alert to whether they should offer him a post or search for a competent MD. He failed to convince the Board.

What I learnt from the former regime..whatsoever looked incompetent..it was so because 'the king' was thinking otherwise..all opposing factors had a name tag to suit the prezidaa &team wajinga. So this guy may be smarter beyond your expectation
