One police officer died and three others sustained injuries on Wednesday when a vehicle transporting voting materials overturned in Garissa.
According to the county commissioner James Kianda, the vehicle rolled as it was ferrying ballot materials and security officers to Balambala constituency.
The injured officers were rushed to the Garissa Referral Hospital.
Voting in most parts of the country began on Thursday morning although some polling stations were yet to open by mid-morning with voters and electoral officials failing to show up in some of the voting centers in the Nyanza region.
