In Collaboration with MUST COLLEGE
Are organizing an evening MONTHLY GIS DAY TECHNICAL SESSION

VENUE: MUST Colllege, Blue Pearl, Ubungo Plaza, Dar es Salaam
PARTICIPANTS: Organisation working with Satellite Images,Free Session
Abstract:
GIS operations and satellite image processing are becoming common and integrated in most of GIS platforms. Availability, affordability and improved accuracy of high resolution satellite images have increased the demand for use of satellite images by many users.
For instance major Urban Water implementation projects in Tanzania in year 2012 acquired and used very high satellite images. The National Bureau of statistics (NBS) used the very high satellite image to demarcate enumeration areas for all urban areas in Tanzania. Also in year 2012, more than 64 towns in Tanzania acquired the very high resolution satellite images for various applications including property tax management, urban planning, and development control and other application.
All these cases demonstrate the importance of satellite images and therefore there is a need for all users to have a better understanding of the Basic Satellite Image Processing.
About Monthly GIS Day Technical Sessions
