Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the IT department and oversee all operational activities, ensuring smooth functioning of the IT infrastructure and services.
- Develop and implement DevOps strategies, processes, and practices to streamline software development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Manage the service delivery function, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, efficient handling of service requests, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Plan, execute, and monitor IT projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess feasibility, and provide technical expertise in project planning and execution.
- Effectively manage the IT department’s budget, including forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve operational efficiency and drive innovation.
- Define and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to DevOps, service delivery, and project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in IT.
- Proven track record of successfully leading IT teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
- Background in a Telco/Mobile money environment would be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in budget planning, cost control, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative solutions.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Agile, or DevOps-related certifications are highly desirable.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT operations.
