Acid/Alkaline an important key to good health

Cancer lives and grows in an acid condition.

The only areas of the body designed to handle acid is our stomach, kidneys, bladder and lungs.

The stomach makes hydrochloric acid to prepare the food for digestion and our pancreas makes a watery bicarbonate to neutralize this acid before it is released into the intestines.

The kidneys process the liquids of the body and pass a mildly acid liquid into the bladder (holding tank) waiting to be passed out of the body.

The lungs take in oxygen for the cells of the body to burn and the waste from this burning is exhaled as a gas call carbon dioxide (CO[SUB]2[/SUB]) which is an acidic gas.

All cells of the body must be kept just a little alkaline to stay healthy.

If the cells of the body become too acidic and stay that way for a long period of time, damage to the cells will occur at the DNA level.

When this acid burns into the blueprint code of the DNA, these altered cells are what we call cancer.

If this DNA area is made alkaline again, the future cells will be normal. The cancer goes into what we call remission, back to normal cells again.

For cells to stay healthy, they require a good flow of blood bringing them oxygen, electrolytes, vitamins, minerals and water (which removes waste products), keeping the cells healthy and free of acids that can burn into the DNA.

Exercising everyday is critical to make sure all cells of the body receive a good flow of blood.

Sitting all day at a desk, driving for a living or a job requiring standing all day can create medical problems because of the lack of good blood flow.

Drinking enough plain water and taking the right amount of salt is very important in maintaining a healthy body.
.

Most commercial beverages are acidic

Most commercial beverages are acidic and contain things like caffeine that wipe out our vitamins and minerals which can cause big medical problems in the body.

The number one way our body gets rid of acid is by exhaling (breathing out). This acid is called carbon dioxide (CO[SUB]2[/SUB]) which is what’s left over after our cells burn food and oxygen.

When CO[SUB]2[/SUB] is poured back into the body by drinking carbonated beverages (soda, etc.), the blood becomes very acidic and the brain commands the release of calcium from the bones to neutralize this acid.

This release can cause weak, soft or brittle bones at some point in the future if carbonated beverages are consumed day after day, month after month and year after year.

Even our body gives off an acid waste

Our body has a temperature of approx. 98.6 [SUP]o[/SUP]F because we have cells in the body burning fuel (sugar) 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week to maintain this temperature.

As these cells burn sugar for fuel they give off a toxic waste that we call oxidation, it’s an acid waste. This toxic acid waste must be neutralized by our body the best way it can.

As this acid waste makes its way into our blood stream, our blood will neutralize some of it and our kidneys will try and clean some of it up before urinating it out of the body. Our liver will wipe out some of this acid waste by using up its important amino acids. Now our lungs will try to work extra hard to help get rid of some of this acid waste also.

Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is very important. They will neutralize the acid waste (oxidation) from the cells burning sugar 24 hrs a day to maintain our body temperature of 98.6 [SUP]o[/SUP]F.

A good portion one’s daily diet should be fresh fruits and vegetables because they are anti-oxidants that help keep our body alkaline.

If a person eats too many acidic foods then the body must use its important minerals and amino acids to neutralize this acid.

Sickness and disease will appear down the road because as the organs run low on important amino acids and vital minerals they will start to fail. Conditions such as diabetes, liver, eye, blood, bone, lung and skin problems may develop.

Cancer can appear in the prostate, breasts, pancreas and intestines from becoming too acid and being short on water/salt, amino acids and exercise.

What determines if a food is acid or alkaline?

Whether a food is acid or alkaline is not determined by how it tastes in your mouth but what it is after the body burns it for fuel.

After food is burned (used) by the cells of the body, it’s the waste (ash) that is left over which determines whether the food is acid or alkaline.

Chemists will take food and burn it, as the body does, then take the waste that’s left over and add water to it to determine the PH (potential of hydrogen) of the food. PH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution (ash).

Acidity and alkalinity are measured on a PH scale of 0-14. The lower the number the more acidic the solution, the higher the number the more alkaline the solution is.

When a solution is neither acid nor alkaline it has a PH of 7.0 which is neutral.

Any number less than 7.0 is acidic. Any number greater than 7.0 is alkaline.

A quick way to determine your PH level

The cells of the body must be kept slightly alkaline at a PH of 7.2 to 7.4. When you are not feeling well chances are your PH is out of this range. You can find out what your PH level is by purchasing PH testing strips. By testing your mouth saliva using these test strips you will get a general idea if you are acid or alkaline. Your mouth saliva should be in the 7.0 to 7.5 range. PH test strips are only a tool for those who need to see the numbers to better understand the PH of things.

Foods and their acid or alkaline values

Almost all fruit and vegetables are alkaline where meat (red, chicken, fish, pork/ham), eggs and pasta (bread) are all acidic.

Remember that the PH of a food is not how it tastes in your mouth but what it is after the body burns it for fuel. For example, we all know that tomatoes, oranges and lemons taste acidy to us when eaten, but after the body burns them, they are all alkaline.

A glass of plain water is neutral. Add a little salt and it becomes alkaline.
