AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma turns 18 tomorrow but he has yet to reach economic agreement over his first pro contract with the
rossoneri.

The goalkeeper’s father Alfonso has released an interview with La Stampa revealing why his son decided to join the San Siro hierarcy when he was only 14.

“Inter and Juventus wanted him but he moved to AC Milan to stay with his brother Antonio who was playing in the rossoneri youth team”, Donnarumma’s father said.

“He’s always supported AC Milan and I’ve always supported AC Milan too. I painted my first motorbike in black and red. My wife supports Napoli.”

“When Gigio told us he would have made senior debut with AC Milan we couldn’t believe him. He called home saying: ‘Mum, dad, I’m playing tomorrow, are you coming over? We thought it was a joke, we couldn’t understand what was going on, we only needed train tickets to go to Milan.”

The MLS season is just a few days away and the Seattle Sounders might be making a move for Keisuke Honda according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The size of the compensation paid to the Rossoneri for the services of the Japanese attacking midfielder remains to be seen, but it is clearly better for Milan and Honda that he leaves now, for a cut-price fee rather than bench warming at the San Siro for the rest of the year.

Following his move to Milan and Italy’s Serie A from CSKA Moscow back in 2014 - Keisuke Honda looked to be on an upward trajectory with the world, truly at his feet.

Much like his current club though, Honda has stagnated and although he has made nearly 100 appearances in the red and black of Milan, he’s only managed 95 minutes of football this entire season.

Honda will be a much better fit over on the Pacific Coast for the Seattle Sounders who are looking to defend their position at the top of Major League Soccer over in the States.

Keisuke, although talented, won’t be much of a miss for Milan who have found more use from loan stars Lucas Ocampos and Gerard Deulofeu out wide.

Like everything though, the final sign-off on the deal hangs in the balance as ‘ownership of the club’ will have the final say on the deal and that could leave it up to Berlusconi or Sino-Europe, who should be taking over AC Milan within the next few weeks.

The Italian newspaper say Arsenal scouts were present for Milan’s 1-0 win over Sassuolo at the weekend, but the the 19 year old remained on the bench and was not used by manager Vincenzo Montella.
Despite not being capped even at Under 21 level by Italy to date, Montella has placed a lot of trust in the teenager so far this campaign, giving him 16 starts in all competitions, and 21 appearances in all.
Locatelli has however remained on the bench for the past two matches with the midfielder also being benched for the 2-1 win against Fiorentina a week earlier.
 
Fabregas on the Chelsea margins
Things aren’t going so smoothly for Cesc Fabregas this season.
With Premier League winner N’Golo Kante coming in this summer, Cesc Fabregas lost his place early on, and has spent most of the season on the bench.
Apart from some periods at Barcelona, Cesc has essentially always been a starter, so playing the role of substitute is pretty new for him.
And when you consider that he was one of Chelsea’s most important players when they won the title a couple of years ago, then it must be tough for Cesc to deal with.
That said, he has been playing more of late, and last weekend scored in the 3-1 win over Swansea, in what was his 300th Premier League appearance.

Marco Van Basten scored twice at the Nou Camp as Milan produced one of the greatest performances of all-time to beat Steaua Bucharest 4-0 in 1989, and win the European Cup for a third time.
And, in the following season, both he and Arrigo Sacchi’s men retained their European crowns.
He reportedly fell out with the manager and that caused the Italian to lose his job — and Fabio Capello came in.

In 1991-92, Van Basten finished the season as top goal scorer with Milan winning the Scudetto without losing a match.
He followed in footsteps of Johan Cruyff and Michel Platini to win a third Ballon d’Or and added a Fifa World Player of the Year award in its second season.
Van Basten started the 1992-93 season in exceptional form, before a recurrence of his troublesome ankle forced him to undergo surgery.
He returned for the final few games of the season, but that 1993 Champions League final defeat to Marseille would be his final match for the club.
 
Silvio Berlusconi has said that he would “not hesitate” to keep AC Milan if Chinese buyers Sino-Europe Sports failed to complete on the acquisition. But if you had already accepted a €200 million non-refundable deposit you would likely say the same.

Last Friday a deadline to pay the remaining €320 million on the €720 million deal passed – the Chinese are also absorbing $200 million of club debt. The Chinese were expected to offer another deposit payment of $100 million but there has been no news from the club on the deal status.

For his part Berlusconi appears prepared to wait and trusts the Chinese to get the money together
“They have asked us for a brief extension and I don’t see any cause for concern right now. We’re talking about a financial transaction which is not only of a significant value, but also complex in view of the laws in China,” he told Il Tiempo.

“Besides this, the investors have already paid substantial deposits and I can see the seriousness in their intentions. This is important not only for the Fininvest group, but above all for Milan fans. I said from day one that I would only pass the club into good hands.”

Berlusconi has said before that he has no issue keeping keep hold of the club
“For me, having to give up Milan is painful. Buying them, making them grow, guiding them to all the trophies in the world – this was not just an investment but an act of love.

“The fans don’t need to worry. If the conditions are not net, I would not hesitate to take back control, but objectively I cannot see any reason why this should happen.”

Sino-Europe Sports Investment Management Changxing (SES), is led by Haixa Capital and entrepreneur Yonghong Li, but has had trouble getting the required authorisation from government in Beijing to complete the deal.

It will be the most expensive football club acquisition by Chinese investors in Europe to date. The Chinese buyers have twice put down non-refundable deposits of €100 million with deadlines for deal closure pushed out last December to February.

The new owners are also expected to make a further €100 million available for strengthening the team.
 
Andrea Pirlo has revealed that Pep Guardiola wanted to sign him at Barcelona back in 2010, following a pre-season friendly with AC Milan .
Now plying his trade in MLS for New York City FC, Pirlo started his career at Brescia, before moving to Inter Milan in 1998. Although he struggled to establish himself at the San Siro, a move to bitter rivals Milan in 2001 changed everything, as the 37-year-old developed into one of the best midfielders in world football.

Juventus are interested in signing Lyon star Corentin Tolisso and according to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport the Serie A giants have already prepared an opening bid for the 22-year-old.

The Italian paper claims that the Ligue1 side have put a € 40 million price-tag on the talented French midfielder although Juventus want to lower the player’s value adding a player to their cash offer.

Gabon International Mario Lemina, in fact, is said to be a transfer target of Lyon and Juventus are reportedly planning offering his services plus € 20 million in exchange for Tolisso who refused to join Napoli last summer.

Meantime, the Corriere dello Sport believes these could be Carlos Bacca’s last months at AC Milan. The Colombian striker has 12 goals in 25 appearances with the rossoneri and wants to score some more to help his side to get its first European qualification in the last three years.

Bacca rejected a chance to join West Ham last summer and many Chinese clubs are now said to be interested in welcoming his services in the summer.

AC Milan want to make Gerard Deulofeu move permanent and the Serie A giants’ CEO Adriano Galliani has already made contact with his close friend Ariedo Braida to begin transfer talks,
calciomercato.com has exclusively learned.
Deulofeu joined AC Milan on loan from Everton in January but Barcelona have a buy-back clause that they can activate to bring the player back to the club. Therefore, Galliani wants to reach agreement with Barcelona before contacting Everton and negotiate the player’s transfer.
The Spaniard is impressing with the rossoneri
and AC Milan do not have an option to buy him on a permanent deal in the summer that’s why they need to reach an agreement with either Barcelona or Everton if they are to sign Deulofeu on a permanent deal.
