Corriere dello Sport reports that PSG sporting director Leonardo is willing to invest €100 million in two AC Milan players.

Despite the disappointing form of AC Milan, former sporting director Leonardo is interested in doing shopping at his old club. According to Corriere dello Sport, PSG and AC Milan continue to negotiate the transfer of Lucas Paqueta but Leonardo is hopping for a double signing.

The Italian newspaper reveals that PSG have offered €80 million for both Lucas Paqueta and Alessio Romagnoli plus bonuses that can raise the total fee up to €100 million. PSG are reportedly willing to match AC Milan’s €35 million rating of Lucas Paqueta only if Romagnoli is included in the deal.

Leonardo is well aware of AC Milan’s economic problems and is trying to touch the right strings to draw his targets in France. The PSG sporting director is hoping that a tempting economic package could be enough to convince Maldini to let go two of AC Milan’s most prized assets.

The Rossoneri are willing to sell the Brazilian attacking midfielder if their recoup their investment in the former Flamengo. However, the situation is different on Alessio Romagnoli. The former Roma defender is AC Milan’s captain, a leader of the squad and one of Pioli’s most important players.

AC Milan are currently in negotiations to buy Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona for a fee of around €20 million. Without an important sale in January it will be difficult for Milan to finance the rest of the January campaign thus pushing the club towards a significant sacrifice.

Jean Clair Todibo is slow to respond to Milan. The Frenchman would like to have the option to return to FC Barcelona in the future (buy back option for Blaugrana). Rossoneri are not happy with it and looking slowly for other profiles to strengthen the defensive.

According to Daily Mail, Aston Villa requested to sign Piątek on loan with option to buy for £25M, Milan want £30M. They have also held talks for Pepe Reina

With Ibrahimovic's arrival, Kris Piatek's future seems to be away from Milan.
Despite a very disappointing season so far, four teams are on the trail of the Polish striker, West Ham, Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen and Newcastle. @Corriere

Leao is a likeable footballer. He has so much potentials and skills. He only needs someone to give him confidence and show him the way

Giorgio Armani to Corriere della Sera: "Bernard Arnault strives to be in Milano and if he wants to acquire the Milan team I can also do: it's my city, here I work and breathe."

La Gazzetta dello Sport have looked at AC Milan and discovered that they have spent 467 million euros in the last 30 months on players, coaches, administrators, sporting directors... yet the results on the pitch have been non-existent.

On Wednesday night’s CalcioMercato L’Originale, Gianluca Di Marzio dropped a transfer-bomb (via SempreMilan.com); Milan want to sign city rival Inter’s winger Matteo Politano.

Matteo Politano has not received much game time at Inter since Antonio Conte took over last summer. He has made a total of 10 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season, whereas none of them has lasted for an entire 90 minutes.

However, Politano’s career might take a new turn this month. According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio on Wednesday night’s CalcioMercato L’Originale, Milan have identified the Italian winger as a target to help out in an attack that has not been productive.

The interest has even been acted upon, as Milan’s management met with Politano’s agents on Wednesday and has already received the player’s consent for moving to the Rossoneri parts of Milano.

Politano had a fairly strong season under Luciano Spalletti’s regime last season as Inter qualified for the Champions League for the second consecutive season. He registered 5 goals and 5 assists and was often a hard player for the opponents to handle.

It’s now up to the Milano clubs to agree upon a deal to conclude Politano’s potential switch.

Financial details are emerging on Fiorentina’s deal for Patrick Cutrone, on loan for 18 months with obligation to buy for €18m, giving Wolverhampton and the Viola buy-back clauses.

The 22-year-old former Milan striker is on his way back to Italy just six months after the €18m transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He made 24 competitive appearances for Wolves, scoring three goals and providing four assists, but was missing life in his homeland.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more, it will be an 18-month loan to Fiorentina worth €3m with obligation to buy in June 2021 for €16-18m, depending on performances.

However, Wolves are expected to retain a buy-back clause, so could try again in future.

Sky Sport Italia point out that there is yet another clause in the complex contract, so Fiorentina have the right to purchase Cutrone outright again within five days of Wolves activating their option.

Naturally, the figure would be higher for the Viola if Wolverhampton were to attempt to bring Cutrone back.

Viviano clears Reina for Villa

Pepe Reina could join Aston Villa within days, as it’s reported Emiliano Viviano has agreed to be his replacement at Milan.

The goalkeeping merry-go-round is in full swing at the Milanello training camp, where Reina has spent much of the day in meetings with his agent and club directors.

Manuel Garcia Quilon had told Sky Sport Italia that there was “no agreement” with Aston Villa yet.

“We continue to negotiate, but the Rossoneri would like to bring in a replacement first.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, that has now been sorted out, as Viviano gave the all-clear to sign a six-month contract.

Viviano is currently a free agent after his spells with Sampdoria, SPAL and Sporting CP.

The 34-year-old is content to take on the role of understudy to Gianluigi Donnarumma at San Siro until the end of this season.

It means Milan can therefore release Reina to join Aston Villa, who need a goalkeeper after a serious injury to Tom Heaton.

Reina is 37 years old and has made only one Serie A appearance this season, the 2-1 win away to Genoa on October 5.

He was absolutely decisive, though, saving a stoppage-time Lasse Schone penalty.

Milan and Benfica have seen initial offers for Gianluca Scamacca rejected, as Sassuolo are reported to want €20-25m.

The striker just turned 21 and is currently on loan with Ascoli, where he has scored 10 goals in 17 games between Serie B and the Coppa Italia.

He has four goals in eight caps for Italy at Under-21 level and is tipped for future success.

According to Sky Sport Italia, an opening €10m offer from Benfica was rejected outright, because the asking price is closer to €20-25m.

Meanwhile, Radio Rossonera also suggest Milan have approached Scamacca’s entourage to ask about his availability, and he’d be enthusiastic about the switch to San Siro.

It may well depend on whether the Diavolo can sell Krzysztof Piatek, with interest from Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Aston Villa.

#Fenerbahce want to close Ricardo #Rodriguez. The player has accepted the bid of Fener, that have offered to #Milan a loan (€1,5M) with option to buy. Maldini ask a permanent deal to sell him. Next week there will be a meeting to find an agreement. @NicoSchira

AC Milan have identified Roma winger Cengiz Under as their first-choice target as they look to add a new winger this month, a report claims.

On Wednesday night, Gianluca Di Marzio broke the shock news that the Rossoneri are interested in Inter’s Matteo Politano, who has agreed to move across the city divide and join Milan following a meeting between his agent and the club.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Bobam are indeed looking for reinforcements for the attacking trident, in light of the disappointing performances offered by Suso this season.

The paper adds that they have identified a preferred option to Politano in Roma star Cengiz Under, but the paper claims that there have been no contacts yet. The Giallorossi have set the stakes high: they value the Turkey international at €50million.

The 22-year-old, who has one goal in 11 appearances in all competitions this season, has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs in the Premier League.

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli tried a 4-4-2 formation in training today, a report claims, with a new front pairing.

According to the latest from Sky Italia (via
MilanNews.it ), Pioli tested a two-striker system in Thursday’s session, with Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura excluded from the XI.

The outlet claims that Gianluigi Donnarumma was in goal as expected, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez flanking Mateo Musacchio and Alessio Romagnoli.

Across the midfield, Samu Castillejo was wide right and Hakan Calhanoglu was out on the left, with Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer the centre-mid pairing.

Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was tested up front alongside Portuguese starlet Rafael Leao, with the duo having shown positive signs during the time they spent on the field together on Monday’s 0-0 draw with Sampdoria.

Pioli’s tested XI (Sky): Donnarumma; Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Castillejo, Kessie, Bennacer, Calhanoglu; Ibrahimovic, Leao

AC Milan director Zvonomir Boban is planning a mercato revolution this month with all but a few players at risk, a report claims.

It has not been the start to the season most expected for the Rossoneri, who currently sit in 12th place ahead of Saturday’s game against Cagliari which will round off the first half of the campaign.

According to il Corriere della Sera – as cited by
MilanNews.it – Boban wanted an even bigger revolution during the summer window, but Elliott Management stopped this happening as they were focused on not making losses on any players.

However, things have now change: all of the current squad are up for sale apart from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Alessio Romagnoli.

The directors at Via Aldo Rossi want to move forward and immediately start clearing out those deemed not good enough for Milan. The paper adds that the club are even willing to accept operations on paper that are not advantageous for the club’s coffers just to get rid of said players.
In addition, rumours are growing that Massimiliano Allegri could return as manager. The new revolution that Boban wanted last summer is finally ready to be put into practice.

The 'Boban revolution': almost whole AC Milan team for sale, only six 'untouchables'
10/01/2020, 10:40

Another revolution at AC Milan? Moreover, an immediate one, as reported by Corriere della Sera today (via milanlive.it) , adding that the turnaround that Zvonimir Boban wanted to implement already during the summer, even at the cost of capital losses, was only postponed for a few months.

Several months ago it was the Elliott fund which blocked the will of the director, while now even this will no longer be able to stem given the desperate situation of the club.
Only a few players of the squad at Stefano Pioli's disposal are 'untouchable'. These are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Alessio Romagnoli.

The rest of the team is all basically for sale. Even at the cost of dragging on operations that don't seem to be advantageous on paper like in the case of Mattia Caldara.

The goal is to eliminate 'dry branches'. One of the other players on the verge of a departure is Pepe Reina, who is pushing for a move to Aston Villa before his contract with the Rossoneri expires. However, Milan first want to find a substitute. Fabio Borini is another player on his way out, as he has virtually completed his move to Hellas Verona.

For the incoming market, in addition to Simon Kjaer, who looks likely to arrive at the club, the track for Inter's Matteo Politano is hot. The agent has already given the go-ahead for the move and the clubs will negotiate next week to find an agreement.

The problem is, however, that the Nerazzurri do not want to let the player leave on a loan deal. So there are two possibilities: the sale of Krzysztof Piatek or the exchange of loans with Franck Kessie.
