The days are very intense at Casa Milan, AC Milan's headquarters, due to the January transfer market, where the Rossoneri management is at work both on the front of purchases as well as departures.

However, the club is already looking to the future and in the summer there will be a new revolution that will start from the bench. The top name to take the place of Stefano Pioli is Massimiliano Allegri, who led Milan in the past between 2010 and 2014.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via milannews.it) this morning, Maldini and Boban want to entrust the Milan of the future to a top manager and the former Juventus manager seems to be at the top of the list.

To convince him to return to Milanello, there would be the idea of giving Allegri a role in the style of Sir Alex Ferguson. The management of the club wants a long-term solution for the bench in order to start a long-term project at the San Siro.

The manager has the perfect identikit of what Boban and Maldini are looking for, who have in mind a fast team, with legs but also thoughts. Moreover, they would like the new Milan to be able to play with multiple formations and Allegri is a master of tactical transformation.

He has also demonstrated throughout his career that he knows how to value young players. The road of the future, therefore, seems to be traced but now it essential to close the current season in the best possible way.

Another revolution at AC Milan? Moreover, an immediate one,

as reported by Corriere della Sera today (via milanlive.it) , adding that the turnaround that Zvonimir Boban wanted to implement already during the summer, even at the cost of capital losses, was only postponed for a few months.

Several months ago it was the Elliott fund which blocked the will of the director, while now even this will no longer be able to stem given the desperate situation of the club.

Only a few players of the squad at Stefano Pioli's disposal are 'untouchable'. These are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Alessio Romagnoli.

The rest of the team is all basically for sale. Even at the cost of dragging on operations that don't seem to be advantageous on paper like in the case of Mattia Caldara

The goal is to eliminate 'dry branches'. One of the other players on the verge of a departure is Pepe Reina, who is pushing for a move to Aston Villa before his contract with the Rossoneri expires.

However, Milan first want to find a substitute. Fabio Borini is another player on his way out, as he has virtually completed his move to Hellas Verona.

For the incoming market, in addition to Simon Kjaer, who looks likely to arrive at the club, the track for Inter's Matteo Politano is hot. The agent has already given the go-ahead for the move and the clubs will negotiate next week to find an agreement.

The problem is, however, that the Nerazzurri do not want to let the player leave on a loan deal. So there are two possibilities: the sale of Krzysztof Piatek or the exchange of loans with Franck Kessie.

The Ibrahimovic medicine: Zlatan has already 'restored soul and hope' at AC Milan
11 January at 12:00

AC Milan will face Cagliari today in the next Serie A clash and it will be a clash of experiments for the Rossoneri, as Stefano Pioli is set to use the 4-4-2 formation with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rafael Leao upfront.

When the Swedish giant landed in Milano on January 2, the management hypothesized a debut in the Coppa Italia clash against Spal and it seemed like an optimistic plan given how long Ibrahimovic has not played. However, the phenomenal attacker surprised everyone.

The player immediately restored soul and hope to this Milan, as highlighted by Corriere della Sera (via milanlive.it) , and he chose Leao as his companion for the adventure.

Ibrahimovic is convinced that he can shape the Portuguese talent, with whom he has 17 years of difference, helping him to grow and mature definitively. Rumours from Milanello speak of an absolutely different attitude from the ex Lille star which could be demonstrated already today against Cagliar

Roma ask for Calhanoglu: AC Milan's request revealed

Roma have asked for Suso, AC Milan responded with Cengiz Under and the Giallorossi respond back with Hakan Calhanoglu. As reported by Tuttosport (via milanlive.it), this is the scenario that took shape on the axis between the two Serie A giants.

After the various summer contacts for the Spanish winger, the two clubs have returned back to the negotiation table. And the recent developments have led to an even wider scale of possibilities between the two clubs, involving players initially not considered.
The Suso-Under swap deal is not expected to take place because the club from the capital also asked for 20 million euros in addition to the Spaniard. But a player who could interest Petrachi is Hakan Calhanoglu.

The request of the Rossoneri management for the Turkish international is 15-18 million euros and the discussion could be deepened in the coming days. Milan can no longerp make exceptions and will have to try to seize every opportunity that may arise. There are very few untouchable players for January and Calhanoglu is not among them.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his full debut for AC Milan today against Cagliari in a must win game for the club. Milan played with the swagger and charisma they have lacked all season, the presence of Ibrahimovic seems to have lifted the team spirit and Milan played like a team injected with new life and confidence.
Rafael Leao gave the Italian giants the lead on the 46th minute of the game to give Milan the lead their gameplay and performance truly deserved, but the story line is not complete without a Zlatan Ibrahimovic special.

After a very disappointing performance against Sampdoria, Suso’s status has taken a hit. In addition to the fans turning against him, he’s also expected to start on the bench in today’s clash against Cagliari.

In Italy, in other words, he hasn’t been convinced as of late. However, he continues to have great admirers in Spain, as reported by Alfredo Pedulla. In fact, just not one, but rather three clubs.

Getafe, Sevilla and Valencia have all enquired about the player in recent hours, even making initial offers to Milan. However, per the report, the Rossoneri aren’t convinced by the formula: a paid loan with an option to buy.

The San Siro side would like to monetize the departure and thus include an obligation to buy instead of an option. In any case, Suso’s future with the club is far from certain and if he doesn’t leave this month, he most likely will in the summer instead.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic confessed he is a little rusty, but was pleased to score for Milan after almost eight years. “My mind is sharp, the body has to follow.”

Ibra was on target in a 2-0 victory away to Cagliari, following Rafael Leao’s opener.
This was his 57th goal in 87 appearances for Milan, his first since a brace against Inter on May 6, 2012.

Aged 38 years and 100 days, it also made him the fifth oldest Rossoneri player to score in Serie A, younger only than Nils Liedholm (38 years and 120 days), Pippo Inzaghi (38 years and 277 days), Paolo Maldini (39 years and 277 days) and Alessandro Costacurta (41 years and 25 days).

“It’s important for a striker to try and be there, then sometimes it goes in, sometimes it doesn’t. I feel good, I got a few balls wrong at the start of the game, but I need a few matches to get into shape,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’ll celebrate like a God at San Siro, not here. I celebrate God every time I score, that way I feel alive!”

Coach Stefano Pioli asked during the second half if the Swede wanted to come off, but he lasted the entire 90 minutes plus six of stoppages.

“I feel good, the coach just wanted to think about by age and see if I needed a rest, but there’s no problem. My mind is still sharp and the body has to follow.”
This was an all-new Milan, dropping Suso, Lucas Paqueta and Krzysztof Piatek for a 4-4-2 formation.

“We played with two strikers and two wingers to push the whole team further forward, and it went well. We worked on this system all week.
“This was my second game, the first ended 0-0 with Sampdoria, we have three points here and have to keep working. When you work hard, luck turns your way.”

Ibra has only a six-month contract with option to extend, so was asked if this was the first step towards a new deal.
"No, I have to win the Scudetto for an automatic renewal!" he joked.

*Pioli: 'Milan effective with Ibrahimovic'*

Stefano Pioli acknowledges Milan are “more effective with Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a reference point” and hints Lucas Paqueta is surplus to requirements.

The Rossoneri had been without a win since December 8 and hadn’t even scored in over 370 minutes of football, but the move to 4-4-2 saw both Rafael Leao and Ibrahimovic on target in a 2-0 victory away to Cagliari.

Suso, Krzysztof Piatek and Paqueta were not only dropped, but never even warmed up at the Sardegna Arena.

“This was certainly a different performance to recent outings. We were more effective, more solid, Zlatan’s presence clearly gives us a reference point to build around and it’ll take us a while to really get to know each other.

“It was an important and deserved victory to start building a better future,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“We must try to make the most of the characteristics of our players. Ibrahimovic probably won’t run into space that much, so we need someone around him who can do the running, as today we saw Leao, Samu Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu, then Giacomo Bonaventura. We’ve only just started working on this system, but the early signs are positive.”

This was Ibrahimovic’s first start since moving from the LA Galaxy and he lasted the full 90 minutes plus stoppages.

“I asked Zlatan often how he was doing, as he hadn’t played a full game for months and I didn’t want to risk muscular problems. He settled in with great intelligence, said the right things to his teammates and is a real reference point on the field.

“He can only get stronger and we’ll see the real Zlatan in three or four games. I was sure he’d be ready just by talking to him on the phone, I didn’t even need to see him in action.

“Ibrahimovic wants to prove he’s still got it and his presence is really helping what is one of the youngest squads in Serie A. He has such character, determination and experience that it inevitably passes on to the others.

“What we were lacking so far was not creating the chances, but being able to finish them off. I am glad that we have more options and alternatives when going forward.”

Pioli was asked about Paqueta’s form and suggested the Brazilian is now simply surplus to requirements amid Paris Saint-Germain interest.

“Paqueta is working well, he’s in good shape, but I made different choices to have a balanced team that could suit this playing system. If the transfer market ends early, I’ll be happier, because it can distract some players, but my decisions are only to win the next games, as we really need the results.”

The coach was also questioned on reports Milan have chosen Asmir Begovic of West Ham United to replace Aston Villa-bound Pepe Reina.

“Any nearly deals are not concluded, so we’ll wait until they are made official.”

Ibrahimovic: “I’m in great form. Renewal?…”

After the match winning performance against Cagliari, Zlatan Ibrahimovic talks about the Rossoneri and his form.

On his first goal: “For a striker it is important to score, the important thing is that I feel good, then the goals arrive. I missed a few balls at the beginning, I need to play to get in my best shape“.

On his God-like goal celebration: “I promised it at San Siro. I do this celebration because I feel this alive way“.

On Pioli who said he isn’t in shape to play for the entire 90 minutes: “The coach wants to be careful, he thinks of my age. The brain is always the same, the physique must follow it“.

On the formation: “Today we played with two forwards and two wingers to stay more up front. Today went well, we worked well during the week and we are rewarded with three points for that“.

At the team’s moment: “We hope to continue like this, we suffer but when we work everything goes well“.

On the closest renewal: “To renew I have to win the championship, I think that’s difficult (laughs)“.

Louis Vuitton group reach agreement with Elliott over
purchase of AC Milan

Elliott Management and the LVMH group – led by Bernard Arnault –
have reached an agreement over the sale of AC Milan, a journalist
claims.

There has been intense speculation in recent months suggesting that
Arnault is more than interested in buying the Rossoneri from the
American hedge fund.

La Repubblica recently reported that Arnault has tabled a €975m bid
to buy Milan and is awaiting a response to his offer, while fellow
fashion giant Giorgio Armani dropped a hint that Arnault is keen on
buying Milan during an interview.

There has even been speculation from the aforementioned newspaper
that Gordon Singer of Elliott has been in Milano to hold talks over
the sale of the club, though more denials arrived from an LVMH
spokesperson.

Now, Milan-affiliated journalist Luca Serafini is reported than
agreement has been reached between Elliott and the Louis Vuitton
group over the sale of the Rossoneri.
He adds that the deal will be ratified once there is approval on the
new stadium project.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan have completed the signing of Brazil U-23 international Ivan Quaresma from Ponte Preta.
Ivan Quaresma Da Silva will be a new AC Milan from next June. The news first reported yesterday by Gianluca Di Marzio is now confirmed also by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The young goalkeeper will turn 23 next July. Born in Brazil, he currently plays with Ponte Preta with whom he has a contract until June 2023. But in six months he should arrive in Italy to wear the Red and Black jersey. Ivan Quaresma is part of the Brazil U-23 national team.

Ivan will be one of AC Milan’s goalkeepers for next season. It remains to be seen whether he will be the second or third, given that Pepe Reina will also return from his 6-months loan at Aston Villa. At this point it’s unclear if Aston Villa have an option to sign Reina at the end of the season.

Besides Ivan and Pepe Reina, another goalkeeper who returns at Milan in the summer is Alessandro Plizzari. The Italian shot-stopper has made only 7 appearances with Livorno so far. Ivan on the other had is a regular starter with Ponte Preta and has been capped 5 times by Brazil U-23.

At the beginning of the January transfer window the Rossoneri hadn’t planed any investments in the goalkeeper role. The departure of Pepe Reina forced the club to sign Asmir Begovic for the remaining of the season while Ivan Quaresma will take his place in six months.

AC Milan could discuss deals for two other Inter players as well as winger Matteo Politano during the week, according to a report.

Gianluca Di Marzio broke the news on Wednesday night that Politano has agreed to joining the Rossoneri from their city rivals, while Inter director Beppe Marotta has seemingly dropped a big hint that a deal could take place.

The 26-year-old’s agent Davide Lippi was at Casa Milan on Wednesday to meet with the Milan management, with a number of reports claiming that Inter have set a €25m asking price for the ex-Sassuolo forward.

However, it may well be that Politano is not the only Inter player that Milan have the opportunity to sign this month.

According to Sunday’s edition of Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – the Milan management will meet their colleagues from Inter to discuss some market opportunities next week.

The Turin-based outlet claims that four players in particular could be discussed: namely Politano, Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini as well as Franck Kessie.

After the official press release by Milan a few minutes ago, Simon Kjaer took part in his first training session with the group at Milanello this morning.

The Danish defender arrived on loan with a right of redemption.

Sus tellIn addition to Kris Piatek, Suso is also on the transfer market. After
a poor first half of the season, AC Milan are looking to make major
changes to the team, having already sold and signed three players.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport ( via MilanLive.it ),
the decision to part ways is mutual. Suso, having recently changed his
agent, hopes to find a new club this month.

In fact, his intention is
to turn the page and start again.

The Spaniard has already told some of his teammates at Milanello
that he wants to leave.

Meanwhile, as the report continues, the
Rossoneri have already set their price tag for the departure: at least
€25m.

For Elliott, it would be a good and total capital gain, as the player
arrived on a free transfer back in 2015. However, it remains to be
seen if anyone can meet Milan’s demands, as Suso hasn’t exactly
been at his best this season.
