Sporting director Fredi Bobic has confirmed that Eintracht Frankfurt want to keep Andre Silva beyond 2021, and that the same applies with Milan and Ante Rebic.

The Croatia international arrived in the summer on a two-year loan deal from Eintracht Frankfurt and struggled up until the Christmas break, but he exploded afterwards scoring seven goals in 2020 alone to become the outright top scorer for the season.

A number of different outlets have reported that Milan now wish to make the deal permanent with a €25m valuation mentioned, though the idea of using Andre Silva as a counterpart has also been widely touted.

The Portugal international moved the other way on the same terms last summer and scored on Saturday for the Bundesliga side in their 3-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Now, Frankfurt’s sporting director Fredi Bobic has discussed the future of the two players in question, confirming the possibility of both players making their loan moves permanent.
“We clearly intend to keep André Silva beyond the two-year loan,” he said.

“It also applies to Rebic, I’m glad he’s doing well after having had a little adjustment period. But I had no doubt that they would perform.”

GdS: Disappointing €25m signing returns to Milanello ‘more mentally mature’

Rafael Leao has returned to training with AC Milan appearing ‘mentally more mature’ after the break, according to a report.
MilanLive – citing La Gazzetta dello Sport – reports how the former Lille forward has the confidence of the club, which intends to focus on him for the future. However, it is also important that improvements are seen, as he has just two goals since his €25m arrival last summer.
The paper claims that Leao appears in good athletic shape and more mentally mature after the break, something Stefano Pioli has noticed. The break spent in Portugal did him good, helping him to reflect on what did not work in his first few months with the Rossoneri.
With the advice of Zlatan Ibrahimovic he can grow and prove important for the season finale. More intensity, more incisive play and above all more goals are expected, otherwise the pursuits of other strike targets could become more concrete.

AC Milan are ready to battle Napoli for the signing of SC Freiburg defender Robin Koch in the upcoming transfer window, a report claims.

Milan appear set to begin the next transfer window with a very clear priority: to buy a new central defender – at least according to the various reports in the media.

Calciomercato.com reported over the weekend that Robin Koch has caught the Rossoneri’s eye, as the German international was impressive in Freiburg’s 1-1 draw at RB Leipzig on Saturday, a game in which Ralf Rangnick was spotted sitting in the stands.

According to the online version of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have joined Serie A rivals Napoli in the race to land Koch this summer, with both clubs looking to bolster their defensive ranks.

It is believed that the 23-year-old has a current valuation of €15million, and his deal is set to expire in 2021 which represents an opportunity for a deal to be done on slightly cheaper terms.

AC Milan are firmly on the trail of young Santos FC forward Kaio Jorge, a report claims, but they face competition from a rival.

The Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management are seemingly determined to implement recruitment strategy focused on buying young players with high potential and developing them in order to record capital gains on the balance sheet.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira recently claimed that Milan are firmly in the race to sign Jorge from Santos, having offered the 18-year-old the chance to immediately be a starter.

Schira added that Milan have even held phone contacts with his agent Giuliano Bertolucci in the hopes of beating the competition, who was apparently the subject of a recent €18m bid from Juventus.

Now, Tuttosport have confirmed on Tuesday (via MilanNews) – citing sources from Brazil – that Milan are indeed interested in the teenage forward.

Juventus are also believed to be in the hunt for Jorge, who has one goal in six senior appearances, while other top European clubs are also monitoring his progress.

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli wants to achieve one key objective before he leaves the club at the end of the season.

According to Tuesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Pioli will depart at the conclusion of the current campaign if he is forced to do so, but he wants to do it with his head held high.

He also wants to make the decision as difficult as possible for the club’s management, and has two methods in mind: the first is to achieve Europa League qualification, while the second is to somehow win the Coppa Italia.

Despite the persistent speculation, Pioli is a symbol of imperturbability and professionalism. The paper notes how a hundred more names could come up from here to the end, but the ex-Lazio boss would continue to work with his head down as he has always done since his arrival.

In spite of everything, his fate is in fact sealed and even winning the cup would not save him, but Pioli has a mission for this final rush: to close these final 12 matchdays with dignity.
