Napoli are preparing to spend lots of money this summer and Gennaro Gattuso is ready to snatch AC Milan’s top target.
Napoli are about to smash their transfer record in order to sign Victor Osimhen from Lille. The 21-year-old Nigeria centre forward, author of 18 goals and 6 assists this season will cost Napoli a staggering fee of 50-60 million euros.

Now president Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giutoli are focusing in midfield. According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are trying to snatch Dominik Szoboszlai from AC Milan.

The 19-year-old left midfielder who is AC Milan’s top summer target also heads Gennaro Gattuso wish list for the midfield. Di Marzio reports that a meeting is scheduled this week between Napoli and the player agents.

Napoli will sell Allan this summer for at least 40 million euros and want to replace the Brazilian with Dominik Szoboszlai. According to Di Marzio, Napoli can offer more than AC Milan in order to convince Red Bull Salzburg to sell their gem, up to 25 million.

AC Milan have been in contacts since January with Red Bull Salzburg regarding Szoboszlai. The Rossoneri are reportedly close to completing his signing for 20 million but Napoli’s recent intrusion risks complicating the situation. Meanwhile the Hungarian talent scored his sixth goal yesterday in the last six game since the league resumption.

Thibaut Courtois has now kept more league clean sheets this season than any other goalkeeper in Europe's top five divisions:

❍ 30 games
❍ 18 goals conceded
❍ 16 clean sheets

Golden Gloves.

Ante #Rebic is the first AC Milan 2019/20 player to score at least 10 goals (all comps): he netted 9 goals in his last 11 Serie A apps. Implacable.

Former Milan striker Olivier Bierhoff has claimed it will be interesting to see if Ralf Rangnick and Zlatan Ibrahimovic get along. ‘They’re two strong personalities with clear ideas’.

The former striker and current director of the German national team spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport about the arrival of Rangnick and what it could mean for Zlatan’s future at San Siro.

“Rangnick likes the game of the younger players,” Bierhoff said. “The aggressive, quick play, with a lot of pressing.

“Ibra has to see how much he desire he has left. They are two strong personalities with clear ideas, it remains to be seen how well they can get on together.

“Ibrahimovic has incredible qualities. Physically he can continue, but the head is another thing. I realised I no longer had what it takes to give my all.

“He has more natural talent than me. But if Rangnick arrives, he must be assessed. He’s a concrete guy, clear. If someone doesn’t follow his plan, he’s out. It will be interesting to see two great personalities come together.”

The calf injury is now behind, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic will need a few games to find the best form.
@Corriere explains he still doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs and therefore tomorrow against Lazio, barring sensational surprises, should start again from the bench.

Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has insisted that the focus in simply on qualifying for European competition, admitting he does not know what his future holds.

Milan inflicted a first home defeat of the season on Lazio on Saturday night, beating them 3-0 with an impressive performance.

The Rossoneri were dominant and professional from start to finish, controlling the game for large parts with an intense press and taking a deserved lead through Hakan Calhanoglu’s impressive striker.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled it from the penalty spot before Ante Rebic was able to add a third in the second half, while a couple of simple late chances were missed that could have made the scoreline even more severe.

After the game Pioli spoke to DAZN and began by reflecting on just how his side were able to overpower such a strong opponent in the midfield.

“The team played well, we are satisfied with the victory, but with such a compressed calendar, our thoughts are already moving on to Juventus,” Pioli said (via Football Italia).

“We know our position in the standings and we need to keep pushing at this level. We used up a lot of energy again tonight, but I had a positive response from everyone and that will help me make my choices for the next match.

“When you prepare a game, you try to limit the strengths of the opposition. Lazio have a lot of quality and tried to play between the lines, so our midfield did a lot of work today and we kept our shape very well.

“We work really well at Milanello, I always said that I had a group of responsible players who are aware of the importance of the shirt they are wearing. I don’t know what will happen with our future, with my future, but we are too concentrated on fighting to the end so we can at least get Milan back into the Europa League.

“We won’t get the Champions League now, but Milan are a prestigious club and have to be in European competition.

“The players are continuing to give 110 per cent, even those who signed contracts to the end of the season and probably won’t remain here after that. They are determined to prove they are still strong players at this level and to give their best for Milan.

“It’s very important right now to talk to the players, get their sensations, understand who is tired and who needs a break. Rebic really needed a rest today. Ibra doesn’t have the full 90 minutes in his legs, but has certainly improved compared to the SPAL game midweek.”

Ibrahimovic returned to starting XI for the first time since the restart, and he could be seen on the touchline in the second half barking orders after being subbed off.

AC Milan managed to beat Lazio by a convincing 3-0 scoreline at the Olimpico, consequently helping Juventus in the Scudetto race while also increasing their own chances of reaching Europe.

Donnarumma (7): Didn’t have much to do as Lazio failed to create any dangerous chances. The goalkeeper did well with his feet and certainly proved that he has worked hard on this front in training.

Conti (6): Not a bad performance by any means, but the full-back didn’t really have much of an impact on the game. At least he didn’t commit any silly mistakes this time out.

Kjaer (8): The Dane continued his good run of form with another great performance, closing down the opponents attack after attack. He was also impressive in the build-up phase, not hesitating to send longballs towards the attackers.

Romagnoli (8): Just like his partner, there was nothing to complain about this evening. Another great performance, leading his teammates and dominating the Lazio attackers time after time.

Hernandez (7): The Frenchman looked much better than the game against SPAL, in which he was kind of sloppy. He came close to scoring twice thanks to his trademark runs from his own half, but should have really converted his second chance – hence the rating – failing to score from point-blank range.

Kessie (8.5 – MOTM): The Ivorian was fantastic in the centre of the pitch, often dropping down to help out the defenders. His passing was spot on and his defensive abilities have been crucial for the Rossoneri as of late. He needs to continue like this.

Bennacer (8): Made very few mistakes despite the sensitive role he has as the leader of the play. His passing looked good and he also managed to always be in the right position, covering a lot of ground along with his midfield partner.

Saelemaekers (7): The Belgian still has a lot of work to do, especially technically, but his hard work helped Milan to see out the win this evening. He also won them the penalty with his cross in the first half, which set them up for the game.

Bonaventura (7): Looked a bit out of touch at the start but improved as the game went on. Perhaps wasn’t a convincing performance but he did provide Ante Rebic with a lovely assist for the third goal.

Hakan Calhanoglu

Calhanoglu (7.5): Opened the scoring with an effort on the edge of the box, although he got a bit lucky with the deflection. Looked bright at the start and his rating would have probably been higher if he had stayed on (was subbed off with a knock).

Ibrahimovic (7): It wasn’t spectacular from the Swede but he did provide the assist for Calhanoglu’s goal and also converted the penalty – with a bit of luck. Needs to avoid dropping down too much, but otherwise solid.

Substitutions

Paqueta (7.5): Another encouraging performance from the Brazilian, who really has started to play in a simpler way. We all remember how he always dribbled too much but it seems he has found the right balance now.

Rebic (8): The Croatian looked full of energy when he came on during the interval and added yet another goal to his tally. He helped the team a lot with the pressing, constantly chasing down the opponents as opposed to Ibrahimovic.

Krunic (N/A): Although he came on in the 71st minute, we didn’t get to see enough to provide a rating.

Calabria (N/A): Although he came on in the 71st minute, we didn’t get to see enough to provide a rating.

Biglia: N/A
