Raiola to @SkySport: “Matthijs de Ligt will stay at Juventus, he’s the future. I’ve not started any talk with AC Milan to extend Donnarumma contract (just one year left, 2021) because they’ve other priorities... we’ll see”. 🔴 #transfers

AC Milan have been left waiting for a response regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal but cannot wait too long, a report claims.

According to Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), everything is silent on the Ibrahimovic front despite the fact that the team will reconvene for the start of preseason on Monday.

The management expected a concrete and definitive response from Zlatan by now, but the Swede continues to bide his time. There is still optimism regarding the closing of the deal as the Rossoneri have raised their offer up to €6million net.

The problem of bonuses remains, unwelcome to Ibrahimovic who would rather have a higher fixed salary but very welcome instead to Milan.

Ibra has 24 hours to accept the contract extension before the Milanello gates reopen, but Monday’s meeting does not represent a deadline. Zlatan could also sign in the next few days, but one thing is certain: if at least a signal from the player does not arrive by tomorrow, Milan will have to start looking around.

AC Milan are closing in on securing their first two signings of the summer window, according to a report, with both set to arrive from London.

Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports that there are very positive signals arriving regarding the success of two deals, namely the one concerning Tiemoué Bakayoko and Serge Aurier.

It seems that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are set to reach an agreement in principle for both players, giving Stefano Pioli a new midfielder and an experienced right-back as soon as possible.

In the last 24 hours, Chelsea have given the green light to let the French midfielder on loan, meaning the Rossoneri will signing the 26-year-old on loan with an option to buy for what would be a total of €30million.

The former Monaco man has also already said yes to the €2.8million net contract (plus bonuses), accepting a reduction in the salary he currently receives.

There is however still a small difference in the negotiations between Milan and Tottenham for Aurier. The request of Spurs is €20million, but Milan would like to spend €15m.

It seems though that the Diavolo are confident of getting the deal over the line, and yesterday Aurier was not even on the bench for Spurs’ friendly against Ipswich on Saturday.

📰MN: Milan have cut gross salaries this year by almost €30M. Some of that amount will theoritically be allocated to Zlatan's new contract (around €15M gross salary).
There'd still be an important sum left which would be added to the capital gain made of Suso's transfer.

AC Milan in official talks for Real Madrid midfielder
Posted on August 22, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan are in official talks with Real Madrid. The Rossoneri want Oscar Rodriguez to complete their midfield.
The AC Milan management has returned to work after some brief vacations. Now technical director Paolo Maldini is orchestrating the transfer moves of the Rossoneri while at the same time holding talks while a couple of Milan players to renew their contracts.

After signing Theo Hernandez last summer, AC Milan are looking again at Real Madrid for new purchases. The Rossoneri are very interested in 22-year-old midfielder Oscar Rodriguez.

SportMediaset reports that AC Milan are in official talks with Real Madrid to sign Oscar Rodriguez. The talented attacking midfielder was recently called up by coach Luis Enrique for Spain’s September games against Germany and Ukraine.

Rodriguez spent the last season on loan at Leganes. The Spaniard scored 9 goals and assisted 2 in 30 La Liga appearances with Leganes. He has returned to Real Madrid but is on the market for a fee of 20 million euros.

Oscar Rodriguez plays in the same role as Hakan Calhanoglu and would be the perfect replacement for the Turkish midfielder. In Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation he can also play on the wings. The main obstacle is the insistence of Real Madrid to insert a buy-back clause. Los Blancos are confided of having a potential star in their hands and are trying to avoid losing control completely on the player. Milan on the other hand are against this types of operations.

🎙️Rui Costa, Benfica's SD and ex Milan player:"Milan is working well. The results are starting to show and soon we will see Milan in the Champions League. I know Paolo's skills, I hope he can do whatever he wants, I know how much he cares and how much of a fan he is of the team."

Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has urged the Rossoneri to secure the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and insisted that the non-arrival of Ralf Rangnick is not an issue.

Ambrosini made well over 300 appearances for Milan during an 18-year spell at the club, and we took a look back at his exceptional performance in the 2007 Champions League final earlier this year.

He gave an interview to Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, starting with some praise for Stefano Pioli.

“He had already shown abundantly that he was good. Rather, the players amazed me the most,” he said (via MilanLive).

“A remarkable step, taken all together, Milan has acquired a soul and an identity. Obviously the quality has also increased, the players have come out.”

He also spoke about his friend Paolo Maldini, praising the job he has done as technical director.

“He managed himself very well in a complicated period, deserving what he chose this job for: choosing independently. Now he has more responsibility.”

On the non-arrival of Ralf Rangnick: “His non-arrival is the logical consequence of what happened on the pitch. Moreover, we are not talking about the Messi of coaches.

“Surely he is a character who can intrigue, who has done something and has precise ideas, but I am not so convinced that he could have affected with certainty at Milan.”

Ambrosini also praised the impact of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who arrived in the winter and amassed 10 goals in Serie A.

“I would say that it is very complicated not to give everything to someone like Zlatan. The project with him made so much sense that it also makes sense to try hard for the club for another year,” he added.

“The maturation of certain players must be confirmed, next season the Rossoneri’s bar will rise and people like Ibra are needed. He is able to give his team-mates the awareness of being up there, among the top four, so they should move forward with him. And with Leao: he must stay and enter the field eager to be decisive. If Ibra stays, he will make it.”

On the incoming market: “Milan must sign three strong players. The basis for returning to the Champions League is already there.

“Bakayoko? He is very strong, I really liked his growth and personality. It would be a fair purchase. Rather, I’m sorry for Bonaventura, a serious and strong player.”

Finally on the captain’s armband being given to Donnarumma for the last part of the season due to Romagnoli’s injury.

“He is now more mature and can represent something very important. For me Gigio is a figure who has allowed many fans to endure unfortunate years. The kids of today recognise themselves in him.”

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working with a vastly reduced budget compared to what Ralf Rangnick was asking for.
That is according to Calciomercato.com, who are reporting that Maldini and Massara have approximately €30million available for the transfer market, to which any proceeds from sales will be added.
That’s why the Rossoneri club is pushing for the farewell of player like Davide Calabria, whose €12-13million fee – all capital gains – would be an important injection of funds.
The renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a priority and the deal with Chelsea for Tiemoue Bakayoko is a loan with option (and not obligation) to buy at €30-32m.
Milan’s strategies have changed over the last few months as Rangnick seemed almost certain to arrive but a U-turn was done and Stefano Pioli was given a new deal.
The plug was pulled on Rangnick’s as he had asked for €100m to work in the summer window, an amount that Elliott Management could not make available in large part due to the effects of COVID-19 on the club’s finances.
