AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni attended a Lega Serie A meeting on Tuesday afternoon and was asked by MilanNews whether the derby is at risk because of all the positive tests.

His response was clear and simple: “Absolutely not.”

Lega Serie A have taken a big step on Tuesday as they have voted in favour of external investment in their TV rights.
As the Financial Times reports, CVC Capital Partners and Advent International have won the backing of Serie A clubs in a rights deal worth over €1.6bn.
The two private equity groups are now working with Italian investment firm Fondo FSI to get a 10% stake in a new company managing Serie A’s broadcasting rights, having teamed up in August after initially submitting rival brids.
Five clubs abstained from the vote: Napoli, Lazio, Atalanta, Verona and Udinese, while the remaining 15 all voted in favour. There was a rival proposal from Bain that nobody voted in favour of, while a last-minute bid from US investment firm Fortress was rejected as it was too late.
CVC and Advent have now secured a four weeks exclusivity period in which they will conduct negotiations with Lega Serie A to iron out the remaining details.
The Financial Times adds that three people involved in the negotiations have told them that Serie A officials have contacted Sky and DAZN to start negotiations for a potential one-year renewal.

🎙️Marco Bellinazzo of .@sole24ore spoke to @SkySport:" Elliot has injected €140M since July. This is an important signal for the club to return to being a top club of European caliber." https://t.co/35a7lFJEs2

🎙️Kakà spoke to GdS:" When I was in Milan there was a mix of experience and youngsters. I was young when I joined Milan and found a precise base that helped me. It seems to me that the Elliott dictated a correct line, which CEO Gazidis is maintaining."

🎙️Kakà:" Maldini's work and Boban before was important. I like Milan's green line. But, learning from the older ones is necessary. Without those whom I met I wouldn't have become what I turned into at Milanello."

🎙️Kakà:"Are young people enough? It seems obvious to me. Think of the Arsenal model: It's nice, but they haven't won anything in recent years. We need to be a little more concrete. This is how it works more for me: older players and young ones with a quality for the future."

🎙️Kakà:" Ibrahimovic makes everyone raise their levels. He helps the young players a lot. He makes the group grow, teaches others to stay at high levels and he takes the pressure off. "

🎙️Kakà:" The league campaign will be long and difficult. I bet that Ibra will be making a difference until the end of it."

Former Inter and AC Mlan striker Christian Vieri has backed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score over 20 goals this season.
Vieri spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the upcoming derby between Inter and Milan on Saturday, with his words conveyed by MilanLive.

“I don’t remember a derby so strange and influenced by external factors. It will be important but it does not influence the season,” he said.

“Milan are young but they have Ibrahimovic. Ibra raises the quality of everyone. He has technique, vision of the game, assists and scores.

“In the days of Covid he will have broken through the treadmill! Hw will play the derby with a cigarette in his mouth. I repeat: this season he will score twenty goals. The Champions League? It’s hard.”
Vieri also spoke about Milan’s decision to keep Stefano Pioli as the head coach, rather than opting to hire Ralf Rangnick, and he hit out at the leadership for even talking to another coach behind Pioli’s back.

“There had already been a wrong choice: to go and talk to another coach without telling your managers, Maldini and Boban. And time has said that Paolo is a clear person and one who knows how to work: he bought well and also sold well.

“Pioli arrived at a difficult time and things don’t change overnight, and he changed them, he deserved confirmation. You can also see it from the outside: he has a great relationship with his players

AC Milan sign two free agents
Posted on October 12, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan have completed the signing of Giuseppe Fili and Filippo Tolomello. The two talents used to play with Trapani.
Despite a record loss of 195 million euros AC Milan spent considerably to strengthen the squad. In addition to the first team, the Rossoneri have paid special attention to the Primavera squad with only Emil Roback costing 1.5 million euros.

In addition to a lot of Scandinavian talents, the Rossoneri have recently added two local prospects to their roster. AC Milan have completed the signing of two 18-year-olds, Giuseppe Fili and Filippo Tolomello, on free transfers.

Both players used to play with Trapani but were recently released. According to reports, Giuseppe Fili and Filippo Tolomello have both signed three-year contracts with AC Milan. The two will join the Milan Primavera squad coach by Federico Giunti.

After one year in the second division, Milan Primavera has returned to the top tier of the youth league and the management has invested a lot to strengthen the squad. The arrival of Fili and Tolomello confirms Milan’s desire to grow and create a talented group with players capable of joining the first team in a short time.

Fili and Tolomello had been proposed to AC Milan by agent Beppe Accardi. The Rossoneri club evaluated them positively and decided to sign them up. Giuseppe Fili is a defender while Filippo Tolomello a central midfielder.

A number of the Milan squad were in action for their respective countries over the recent international break, with five different players getting on the scoresheet.

Here, we take a look at how they all fared…

🇮🇹 Gianluigi Donnarumma

Started both games for Italy against Poland and the Netherlands, keeping a clean sheet in the former and making an incredible save from Memphis Depay in the latter to ensure a 1-1 draw.

🇹🇷 Hakan Calhanoglu

Like Italy, Turkey drew both their games over the break in the Nations League. They managed a 1-1 draw in Russia in which Calhanoglu played 90 minutes, and he played the full 90 again amassing a goal and an assist in a 2-2 against Serbia. He also racked up his 50th cap for his country in the latter.

🇧🇦 Rade Krunic

Krunic played three games over the break, and scored his second ever senior goal for Bosnia in a penalty defeat to Northern Ireland in a Euro 2021 qualifier. He played 88 minutes in that game as a winger.

He then played 75 and 73 minutes respectively against the Netherlands (0-0 draw) and Poland (3-0 defeat) in the Nations League.

🇩🇿 Ismael Bennacer

Bennacer was an unused sub for Algeria’s 1-0 friendly win over Nigeria, but played 90 minutes against Mexico and scored his first ever goal for his country in a 2-2 draw with a rocket of a strike.

🇨🇮 Franck Kessie

Kessie played 90 minutes in both of the Ivory Coast’s friendlies as they drew 1-1 with Belgium and lost 1-0 to Japan, scoring a penalty in the former.

🇪🇸 Brahim Diaz

Spain’s U21s registered two wins from two beating the Faroe Islands 2-0 and Kazakhstan 3-0, and Brahim Diaz netted a delightful brace in the first game.

🇮🇹 Matteo Gabbia + Sandro Tonali

Gabbia unfortunately contracted Coronavirus while away and Italy’s U21s did not play as scheduled against Iceland, but fielded a younger team for the second game against the Republic of Ireland which Tonali played all 90 minutes of in a 2-0 win.

🇧🇪 Alexis Saelemaekers

Saelemaekers made his debut for the Belgian national team during the friendly against Kessie’s Ivory Coast in the 1-1 draw, and although he will not be credited with an assist he played a big role in the goal as his ball led to opener.

🇩🇰 Simon Kjaer

Kjaer came off the bench for Denmark’s 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands last Wednesday, and played all 90 minutes of both the 3-0 win in Iceland and the 1-0 win over England – both away – making his 100th appearance at Wembley.

🇳🇴 Jens Petter Hauge

Hauge came off the bench for the last five minutes of Norway’s 4-0 win over Romania in the Nations League in his debut for his country, but did not feature in the other two games.

🇷🇴 Ciprian Tatarusanu

It wasn’t a great international break for Romania as they lost 4-0 to Norway and 1-0 to Austria, with Tatarusanu playing 90 minutes in both and captaining his country against the former.

AC Milan are among the clubs interested in signing 18-year-old midfielder Luka Sucic from Red Bull Salzburg, according to a report.

A large portion of the end of last season was dominated by the speculation surrounding Ralf Rangnick’s possible arrival at Milan and the idea that he could bring Dominik Szoboszlai with him from Salzburg, having been an employee of Red Bull at that point.

Now, Goal.com have revealed that Milan have their eyes on Szoboszlai’s team-mate Luka Sucic, a Croatian talent who spent last season out on loan at Liefering in the second division, who are basically the second team of RB Salzburg where prospects are sent to get game time before being promoted to the senior ranks.

He caught the attention of several clubs in the UEFA Youth League, amassing 10 appearances in the competition scoring six times – including goals against Liverpool and Real Madrid – and adding two assists.

In his first season with Liefering he racked up 15 appearances, scoring four goals with five assists. In July he signed a new contract until June 2024 to ward off threats from abroad, with Milan and Juventus mentioned as having interest.

Salzburg plan to involve him in the first team to keen him happy, but the longer he keeps impressing the more big clubs will begin to circle.
