Milan midfielder Franck Kessie lost a tooth after a Matteo
Politano elbow during Napoli-Milan, reports Milan Tv.

The Ivorian midfielder was accidentally hit by the Napoli
winger during the first half of the San Paolo clash on Sunday.

Kessie started bleeding and needed an intervention of Milan’s
medical staff to resume the game.

The 23-year-old played the whole game but according to
Milan Tv he lost a tooth and had to go to the dentist this
morning to sort the problem out.

Kessie has 14 appearances and two goals in all competitions
with the Rossoneri so far this season.

Fabrizio Romano: AC Milan refused loan offers for Lorenzo Colombo.
Pioli and his staff were pleased with the young striker's recent appearance against Napoli.

Tuttosport: Pioli will have to rely on the remaining attackers during the absence of Ibra, Leao, and Saelemaekers.
Rebic has fully recovered. Colombo is ready to take advantage of some minutes to play. On the left, there will certainly be more space for Brahim Diaz and Hauge.

AC Milan appear to have a preferential lane if they were to decide to push ahead with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi.

Calciomercato.it reported last month that Milan are keen on a possible move for Icardi, who is not finding much space in Thomas Tuchel’s PSG side. His wife/agent Wanda Nara even congratulated Milan for their recent derby win.

DiarioAS then followed that up not long after by stating that the future of Icardi may be away from Paris, and that Milan are keen with Wanda Nara pushing her husband to return to Italy.

Icardi is currently injured after rupturing his medial collateral ligament, but even then his relationship with head coach Thomas Tuchel has never been great, despite the fact PSG spent €50m (via Sky) to make his loan permanent.

According to the latest from 7Gold journalist and well-known commentator Tiziano Crudeli, Wanda is indeed pushing her client towards Milan.

“There is always talk of the possibility that Mauro Icardi could leave PSG and return to Italy. This time, however, Inter will not be the Argentine’s possible destination,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“Wanda Nara, agent of the football player, according to the rumours that arrive, would be pushing to bring Mauro Icardi to Milan but the Rossonero side. Maurito’s wife and attorney has always been in love with Milan and would dream of returning to Italy. We will see if the speeches can be deepened over the next few months. It would be a sensational scenario for Milan.”

Official: Milan name 23-man squad for Lille trip – Romagnoli included despite injury fears
By Oliver Fisher - 25 November 2020, 15:21
AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has named his 23-man squad for the crucial Europa League group stage clash against Lille.

Pioli won’t be able to make the journey with his squad as he is recovering from Coronavirus, while he will be unable to call upon forward trio Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemaekers as all three are injured, so he will be forced into some changes.

Sky are reporting that Pioli is set to make five changes to his starting XI for what will be a vital game against the team currently topping the group, with Romagnoli set to miss out due to a muscle issue.

Below is the 23-man squad that he has named, and Romagnoli is clearly deemed fit enough for a spot on the bench…

GOALKEEPERS
A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma, Tătărușanu.

DEFENDERS
Calabria, Conti, Dalot, Duarte, Gabbia, Hernández, Kalulu, Kjær, Romagnoli.

MIDFIELDERS
Bennacer, Çalhanoğlu, Castillejo, Díaz, Hauge, Kessie, Krunić, Tonali.

FORWARDS
Colombo, Maldini, Rebić.

📰Christian Falk (BILD): Hakan Calhanoglu will be a free agent at the end of the season and it is likely that Manchester United signs him as their management is already at advanced talks with his agent. https://t.co/wwyAUjhIlN

Antonio Conte admits if he is sacked at Inter before
Christmas, it’ll be ‘because I didn’t deserve’ to stay, but
denies the squad is working against him.

The coach is under fire after another Champions League
defeat, this time 2-0 at home to Real Madrid, leaving them
with just two points from four rounds.

Conte was given the infamous Tapiro d’Oro trophy – the
Golden Tapir – by satirical television show Striscia La Notizia
today.

He was asked if he will ‘eat the panettone’ – a common
phrase meaning he might not be around to enjoy the
traditional Christmas delicacy at the club party.

“There is a lot of work to be done, but if I don’t eat the
panettone, it’ll be because I didn’t deserve to,” replied Conte.

However, when asked if the team was working against him,
his mood became more irritable.
“That’s a stupid question.”

Gianluigi Donnarumma for Sky Sport:

About the match:

We could win this game. It's a shame about conceding a goal as we could have avoided it. It is important that we did not lose. We still have two group matches ahead of us, which will be like finals for us and will decide our fate.

About Ibrahimović:

Ibra is a true champion who shows us great support. I hope he will come back to us soon.

About the captain's armband:

Wearing the captain's armband is something to be proud of. Romagnoli is the team captain on a daily basis and I will probably give him the armband on Sunday.

About Maradona:

We found out about his death shortly after landing in France. This is really bad news. I express my condolences to his entire family.

Serie A will pay tribute to Maradona this weekend with:

• Warming up to the famous video of Diego dribbling in 1989

• Minute of silence before kickoff

• Black armbands

• Each match will stop in the 10th minute for a 1 minute tribute

Why Milan should re-ignite interest in Italian striker who appears to be perfect heir to Ibrahimovic
By MaaxiAngelo - 27 November 2020, 18:18
Gianluca Scamacca has impressed at Genoa, where he’s on loan from Sassuolo. The Italy U21 striker is big in size, technical, and reminds you of a certain Milan start at a young age – which brings you to the question: could he be the ideal deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

As Zlatan pulled his hamstring against Napoli and is out for several weeks, the natural question arises: how will Milan replace him? Short term there is Ante Rebic, Rafael Leão, Lorenzo Colombo, or even Brahim Diaz. But none of those players fit the Ibrahimovic mould in terms of size, technique, a nightmare to face in duels, creative and with a natural eye for goal.

A case could be made for Colombo as he’s big, strong, and has a predator instinct that has been shown in the Primavera. But at the same time, he’s 18-years-old and needs experience, game time, and more confidence. So who could fill the Ibra role long term?

One name that Milan have scouted and been extensively linked with is Gianluca Scamacca. Many probably know how Scamacca is, but for those who don’t, here’s a quick summary.

Scamacca is an Italian striker born in 1999, making him 21 years of age. He’s originally from Rome and has spent time at both the Lazio and Roma academies before moving to PSV Eindhoven.

However, he just spent one year in the Netherlands before Sassuolo signed him to their Primavera. Since then he’s been a journeyman, having played on loan at Cremonese, Zwolle, Ascoli and currently, he’s on loan at Genoa.

His strengths as a player are his technique, his movement, his natural scoring instinct, his size (195cm), and his speed. Scamacca is very skilled at progressing the ball forwards by carrying it and going past the opposition with dribbles or his physique.

He can score both from inside and outside the box, as he has the movement and anticipation of a target man inside the box and the heavy shot and technical abilities to operate well in the penalty box region.

So why would he be an ideal Ibrahimovic deputy?

To begin with, Scamacca is a very similar player profile to Zlatan. The way he carries himself in the final third, the way he thinks, how he uses his size to his own and the team’s benefit, and the focus he attracts due to his dangerous presence around the box.

Scamacca has great hold-up play due to his size and his awareness of how to use his size and body strength to his best advantage. Long balls can be focused on him, which he can hold on to until his teammates manage to get into position or lift the team.

One additional dimension Scamacca brings – which Ibrahimovic doesn’t have – is his speed. After holding up play, he can join in the attacks by taking runs deep into the channels. That gives a bigger numerical advantage in the box when a cross arrives or it can free up space for his teammates as the defenders have to follow Scamacca’s movement.

But the hold-up playing and bringing a big physical presence into the final third is perhaps what’s most important for an Ibrahimovic deputy – and that is something Scamacca adds just by being on the pitch.

This season, Scamacca has scored six goals and made one assist in seven games for Genoa. In total, he’s scored nine goals in his last nine games for club and country. But the point isn’t that he can provide goals in form of scoring or assisting, it’s that he can do it on Serie A level.

Before, Scamacca has roamed the Serie B with Ascoli and Cremonese. But this season he’s actually shown that he’s able to deliver on the highest level. Most recently, he scored two goals to complete Genoa’s remontada to win in Derby della Lanterna and advance in Coppa Italia.

However, he is by no means is the finished article yet. He has weaknesses like all young players. For Scamacca it’s mainly his concentration and focus that needs improving. But, what better place to improve that than at Milan?

MN: Ten signs prove that Milan are not completely dependent on Ibrahimovic

AC Milan are not as reliant on striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as perhaps some initially believed they were, and the results prove it.

As MilanNews writes, if a sample size of three or four games without Ibrahimovic was not enough to construe that Milan can cope just fine without the Swede, now after ten games it feels like a more concrete hypothesis.

Milan went to Lille on Thursday night – the only team to beat them post lockdown – and got a point when they could have had even more. Against Fiorentina they will need to show that they can be effective in attack again, but all the signs are positive.

Milan’s first appearance without Ibrahimovic dates back to a rest granted to him by Pioli for the game against SPAL in the Coppa Italia, which ended in a 3-0 win back in February.

Since then, Milan have played nine matches with Milan without Ibra and have not lost one. Instead the record is positive: seven wins and three draws, including good results against top opponents like Juventus (0-0 draw in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg) and Roma (2-0 win at San Siro).

Therefore, the report adds that to speak of Milan’s total dependency on Ibra would be wrong, but to speak of a total independence would be equally as foolish.

What it does show though is that the 39-year-old continues to impart his mentality on the squad even when he cannot play or train, but the good news is that Ibra will undergo a medical check-up next week to see how well the hamstring injury is healing.

Milan are waiting for him, but in the meantime they continue their streak of positive results without their top scorer.

🎙️ Mohamed Simakan comments on Maldini's words: "I want to say that it's flattering. Maldini had a great career and we can say he's the best defender in history. I thank him for his compliments. Currently, I’m at Strasbourg but we will see what happens." https://t.co/4Ml1Q4Pr4m
