Milan eye free move for Mirante

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are interested in Roma’s Antonio Mirante who can join the Rossoneri as a free agent.

The former Parma shot stopper has 11 appearances in all competitions so far this season and was Roma’s starting goalkeeper at the beginning of the campaign.

His contract expires this coming June and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are interested in brining him in as their third-choice goalkeeper for the next season.

The 37-year-old can already sign a pre-contract agreement with the Rossoneri and move to the San Siro as a free agent in July.

The Rossoneri are in talks to extend the contract of Gigio Donnarumma with Paulo Maldini who hopes the club will soon reach an agreement with their starting goalkeeper.

Finally!!!!

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti explains why AC Milan are not inferior to Inter and Juventus and why the Rossoneri can win the league.
From the start of the season AC Milan have surprisingly led the Serie A standings. An outcome that few could have predicted but the Rossoneri have been a convincing and dominating squad since day one.

Nevertheless, there are those who wonder if the Rossoneri can really fight for the Scudetto. If Stefano Pioli’s team can really compete with Inter and Juventus? The two Serie A rivals were the only expected candidates for the Serie A trophy at the beginning of the season.

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti elaborated on the matter, insisting that AC Milan have in fact a superior side to Inter and Juventus. “It is said that the squads of Inter and Juventus are much better than that of Milan. Let’s think about this, starting with the goalkeeper.

Samir Handanovic and Wojciech Szczesny better than Gianluigi Donnarumma? Many, all over the world, for age and quality prefer Gigio. Theo Hernandez is the best in left-back in Italy and among the absolute best in Europe. Theo and Davide Calabria are two fantastic full backs.

Regarding centre backs we raise our hands to Chiellini and Bonucci, but I don’t think Pioli looking at Kjaer and Romagnoli is unhappy. Same thing in midfield. Playing with Kessie and Bennacer, and having Tonali as an alternative, is not a luxury everyone has. The situation in attack is similar. Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo are great players but Ibrahimovic has practically scored the same number of goals, playing half of the minutes“.

2021 will be interesting in Italy.

According to reports by Giuseppe Pastore, a journalist for Sky, Ante Rebic has achieved a record for the current championship.

In fact, the croation attacker’s brace against Crotone, arrived in 70 seconds, was the fastest ever in the Serie A.

The Croatian overtook Luis Muriel, who had scored two goals in 77 seconds in Bologna-Atalanta

To talk about the positive moment of the Rossoneri, Ibra‘s recent milestone, the strength of the team, and finally the work of coach Stefano Pioli as well as Maldini, Cristian Zaccardo, World Cup winner, spoke to Milannews.it. Here are his statements:

On Ibrahimovic scoring 500 goals. The Swede attacker scored more in his career after the age of 30 than before…

“It can be explained by saying that he is fine on a physical level. After the age of 30 you reach another level of maturity at the head level that allows you to do things consciously, whereas before you were guided by instinct. From the age of 30 onwards, if the body holds up, you feel stronger. I too felt stronger, the last year I did in Carpi I felt very very well. When you are over 30 and your body holds up, that’s the time when you feel better, but unfortunately, due to age, you don’t know how much your body can hold up. In the case of Zlatan, however, we see the physical level of his to be very strong. He is perfect.”

Is this the best version of Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

“With his arrival to AC Milan, he brought with him experience and his big personality. The right balance was created between Maldini, Massara, mister Pioli, and the team. In clubs, it is difficult to create this cohesion, to date Milan is a close-knit team in all sectors. I watch the Rossoneri with interest, so I am happy that Milan are getting back up. The team will fight until the end, it won’t be easy, but we are all proud of the season they have been doing so far.”

Did you expect these results of Milan from such a young squad?

“It is a difficult year. Playing at the San Siro stadium is never easy for the young and even old players. Davide Calabria is probably having his best season in the Rossoneri. Calhanoglu has always shown great qualities and is now continuous in all games, Kessie has grown a lot as well as other players. All positive things, all things that affect the season. It is therefore no coincidence that Milan is there to compete with famous teams such as Inter and Juventus.”

In your opinion, is there an irreplaceable player in this team or is it ungenerous to reduce everything to the individual?

“Irreplaceable is a word that doesn’t find much place in today’s football. Nobody is indispensable, everyone is useful. I would not like to mention just one name because in this Milan there is a backbone you can always count on, which is supported by young people of perspective and value who thus fit in in the best way.”

Thoughts on Leao?

“Leao has grown a lot, it is a beautiful sign. He is courageous on the field. If he continues this way, he’ll become top class. He also has Ibra at his side, he can learn a lot from him, especially on the mental plan. But I repeat, he has age on his side, he can get there.”

Impressions on Tomori?

“I liked watching him play. He is really fast. But we can’t judge a player after just a few games. A player judges himself after a while, but at first glance he gave me positive feelings. It is not easy to find a centre-back with pace so I understand why his value is so high. He is good.”

Thoughts on Paolo Maldini’s work so far since he joined the club?

“Paolo is the front image of Milan. He understands a lot about football, he’s a charismatic, serious, and a professional person who cares a lot about the club. Elliott did well to appoint him with Frederic Massara: together, they are doing amazing. We hope that this team can return to the Champions League soon and start a new story.”

Paolo Maldini spoke to Bein Sports France in an exclusive interviews about AC Milan. Here are his statements:

“We have one of the youngest teams in Europe. The team needs a leader like Ibrahimovic. We tried to reinforce in the mercato with experienced elements. We have tried to sign Zlatan from LA Galaxy in 2018, even. About his renewal, he has told us that it depends on his body. I don’t see why he can’t continue with us for another season.”

On signing Theo Hernandez:

“When I met Theo Hernandez, I saw in his eyes that he was this sensible young boy. His target is clear, he must become among the top 3 in the world and to be a starter in the France National Team.”

On Sacchi:

“Without Sacchi, the great Milan would not have existed. Desailly? he didn’t want to be a coach. Here at Milan we have always had great strikers.”

On the season:

“It is a very special year during which we play not normal condition without an audience every 3 complex calendar days, the players must be up to the task it is their work can be thanks to this absence of public this team has succeeded in results unexpected.”

On the renewals:

“We have three players expiring, and we also have contracts expiring in 2022. But it’s normal practice, we are working. I always say that it takes two to be happy to reach an agreement, the players are professionals and think 100% of the pitch. The hope is to find an agreement soon.”

On the rivalry between France and Italy:

“In year 2000, they deserved the win. The failure of Gourcuff? Well, sometimes talent is not enough. A team is built on many things.”

On what needs to be done to become great again:

“We have an American ownership which came after the Chinese era. I think that the road to reach certain results is a long one, we must be self-sustainable in the mercato without signing the top class players in the world of football. We must instead look at young profiles to strengthen the team well.”

On what happened after the 5-0 loss against Atalanta:

“We started with Giampaolo who did not work, during the season in October it is normal for the players to grow slowly after Atalanta. The idea to give these young people a point of refuge by buying Zlatan was heard by Elliot and from this we had excellent results.”

On what the club did during the Covid-19 lockdown:

“When we spoke to the players on Skype, we always insisted by telling them that we can improve our ranking in the league table. We have shown in the resumption of the league the qualities of this team.”

On Theo Hernandez:

“He already has a UCL to his name, with the experience of Real Madrid. He was losing himself a bit and when we spoke with him I didn’t want everything I was told about Theo I told him sincerely that he needed revenge, I told him that you have to work a lot, I believed in him and the company too, but his response on the ground was incredible.”

Can Milan compete with Liverpool, Manchester City, and PSG to attract big names in the mercato?

“Apart from Juve and Inter, Milan are not at the same level even if we are first it takes 2 more years in the chamions league to have a competitive team. Ac milan has been playing for 8 years without Champions League football and the economic level is something that has an impact.”

On the name ‘Maldini’:

“First of all, my father tried to protect me, but in the end you have to know what your fate is and what your father’s fate was. I suffered from this authority when I hadn’t done anything yet and I was sad when there was too much attention

Cassano – who was a team-mate of Ibrahimovic’s during his first spell at the club and also played for Inter – spoke to Bobo TV on Twitch about the title battle and why it is so important for the blue half of the city to win.
“The club bought all the players Conte wanted in the summer, he has the obligation to win,” Cassano said (via Football Italia).
“He was eliminated from Europe, it would be a huge failure if he doesn’t win the Scudetto. Milan have built the team with €1.5 and they are playing an incredible season. If the Rossoneri win the title, it would be a massacre for Inter.
“Ibrahimovic on his own, I’ll say it again, on his own, in one year has flipped the league upside down. I don’t know any other player in the history of football who’s been able to do what he is doing at his age,” he added (via IFTV).
“If Zlatan wins the Scudetto with Milan, they need to replace the Madonnina off the duomo and put Ibra.
