Real Madrid could recall AC Milan midfielder
Posted on November 17, 2021 by Rossonero

MilaBrahim Diaz is doing great in his second season at AC Milan. His form has not gone unnoticed with Real Madrid willing to recall the Spanish midfielder.
Many had doubts whether AC Milan should have bet on him as the starting attacking midfielder but Brahim Diaz soon convinced even the most skeptics. No one is regretting the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu because of the very positive performances of Diaz.

In 11 appearances so far the Spanish attacking midfielder has scored 4 goals and assisted 2. It must be said that his recent performances have been conditioned by the fact that he had previously had Covid. Probably the 22-year-old will regain his full fitness after the international break.

AC Milan have signed Brahim Diaz on a two-year loan paying 3 million euros and have the option to make the transfer permanent for an additional fee of 22 million. Real Madrid have a buy-back clause of 27 million euros.

Marca reports that Real Madrid are positively surprised by Brahim Diaz’s growth. In Spain he had found little space while at the Rossoneri Diaz has become a key player in Stefano Pioli’s formation.

Brahim Diaz has found the ideal place to mature at Milan. After a first season as a back-up option, with 7 goals and 4 assists in 39 appearances, he is now a regular starter. Real Madrid are seriously considering recalling Brahim Diaz reports Marca. No final decision has been made yet. The Blancos will evaluate over time what to do with Brahim Diaz.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has recently become a member of the national team impressing coach Luis Enrique. “He dominates with both feet, you see him playing with his left and you think it’s his natural foot, you watch him play with his right and you think the same. He is a player who knows how to play between the lines, who has goals, assists, imagination. He has everything to succeed“, said the Spain coach.

AC Milan working on double deal with Jorge Mendes
Posted on November 18, 2021 by Rossonero

AC Milan will accelerate talks with agent Jorge Mendes for the renewal of Rafael Leao and the signing of Renato Sanches from Lille.
The contract renewal of Rafael Leao is one of AC Milan’s immediate priorities. The Portuguese talent, whose current contract expires in June 2024, has improved a lot this season and the club wants to tie him down to a new deal before Christmas.

Contacts with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, are continuous and there is a lot of confidence in reaching a quick agreement. AC Milan are aiming for a contract extension until June 2026 and will offer the 22-year-old improved terms. The Rossoseri left winger will see his salary increase from the current 1.5 million to around 3.7 million euros per season.

Besides Rafa Leao, another important topic of discussion with Jorge Mendes is Renato Sanches. AC Milan have lost any hope of renewing Franck Kessie’s contract and have identified the Lille midfielder as the ideal player to replace the Ivorian.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that the Rossoneri are pushing to purchase Renato Sanches from Lille. There will soon be another meeting with Jorge Mendes to discuss in detail about the situation of the former Bayern Munich and Leao’s renewal.

🚨 AC Milan want to extend Théo Hernandez's contract. The club have already offered him an annual salary of €3.5M against his current salary of €1.5M-a-year.

An agreement could be found around the €4M mark.

Former Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo said Stefano Pioli and Sandro Tonali are “among the best in Italy” and is excited about the new Milan playing style. Montolivo who spent seven years at the club between 2012 and 2019, admitted he’s “in love” with Pioli’s methods.

“Today, Milan are addicted to Pioli,” Montolivo told Tuttosport. “He is the architect of all this change.

“Pioli at the moment, is among the best coaches in Italy and perhaps Europe too. I’m in love with his way of doing football, with the way he makes the team play.

“If he wins the Scudetto, if he starts to win, he can join the greats.”

Montolivo also spoke about midfielder Sandro Tonali, who has stepped up after a difficult first season with the Rossoneri.

“His growth has been exponential, at the moment he’s the best midfielder at Milan and perhaps the league,” Montolivo continued. “The thing that struck me the most, is the presence he has on the pitch, his specific weight in every single play.

“Now if Sandro Tonali is not there, you

Vlahovic to Telegraf.rs - Najnovije vesti: “Ibrahimovic told me in Serbian 'Don't give up, go ahead' and wrote me a message in our language on the shirt. Every match against Milan has something special for me, because everyone knows the stories about Ibrahimovic, who is my idol.” https://t.co/Lu9rSmsGZH

Vlahovic: “Am I Zlatan’s heir? I don't feel like his heir and I think everyone should go their own way. He is a great champion, one of the best strikers ever in football but I still have a lot to do to get close to his level.”

Vlahovic: “We [him and Ibra] talked about last season, then I went to Milan's locker room & we exchanged a few words. He gave me his shirt and we took a picture. He told me at that moment in Serbian: 'Don't give up, go ahead' and wrote that message in our language on my shirt.”

Vlahovic: “They [Milan] had lost and I didn't want to go to him, I know what it feels like when you lose, it's not pleasant and considering I know many Milan players, I didn't want to disturb anyone.”

Capello reveals why Maldini and Massara are instrumental to AC Milan’s success
Posted on November 25, 2021 by Rossonero

AC Milan former coach Fabio Capello credits the Rossoneri’s recent success to Maldini and Massara’s work.
AC Milan secured a very important victory against Atletico Madrid yesterday. Thanks to a narrow 1-0 win the Rossoneri are back in the race for qualification to the knock-out stage of the Champions League.

Summer signing Junior Messias decided the match with a header in the 87 minute. In this way, Messias became the first Brazilian to score a goal in Champions with AC Milan since Ricardo Kaka’s days. Fabio Capello was very happy with what he saw.

The former AC Milan coach commented on the Rossoneri’s victory on Sky Sport. “I rejoiced for this growing Milan. It’s a nice Milan squad. I rightly give a lot of credit to Stefano Pioli and his staff but I must say that Paolo Maldini and Massara really understand football.

They took responsibility and were at times made fun of. They signed as many young players as the new ownership wanted and did a splendid job. Playing against Atletico Madrid with such personality means that they understood the quality of the players“.

In order to qualify for the next stage AC Milan need a win at all costs against Liverpool. The match will be played at San Siro in two weeks. At the same time Porto must not win against Atletico Madrid.

📰#Tuttosport: Messias can play as an alternate for Brahim Diaz. The match at Madrid showed that both have qualities. And there are not a lot of teams that can deploy two offensive midfielders with such skills. https://t.co/iG5FJtoBVf

After the win against Atleti, Sacchi was interviewed by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews) and shared his thoughts on Milan’s performance. He also stated that they got their revenge after deserving to win the first leg.

“Pioli’s Milan beat Atletico and now they have hope. The match was balanced in the first half, with few chances for both sides.

The second half was like the first until Ibrahimovic entered, who gave the Rossoneri confidence and energised the match.

“Pioli’s men had the chance after a few minutes to score with Bakayoko, but the shot was weak and straight at the keeper. However, they did not lose confidence and on a magnificent cross from Kessie, Messias rushed in, scoring.

AC Milan got their revenge for the undeserved defeat at San Siro. They are on the right path,” he stated.

Roma star interested in AC Milan transfer
Posted on November 25, 2021 by Rossonero

AC Milan had a meeting with the agent of Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo. The Rossoneri want to understand if a move for the Italian winger is possible.
The arrival of coach Jose Mourinho has made Roma more competitive but some Giallorossi footballers are struggling. Nicolo Zaniolo is one of the players who is find it difficult to adapt to Mourinho’s style of play. The attacking midfielder turned right winger is considering changing club in order to find more continuity.

Zaniolo is someone who has been on AC Milan’s radar for a long time. According to reports, one week ago AC Milan have contacted the agent of Nicolo Zaniolo to inquire of his availability.

The 22-year-old Italian wonderkid is reportedly open to a move to AC Milan. The Rossoneri are interested in Zaniolo but there’s not yet a concrete negotiation with Roma. At the moment AC Milan are trying to understand if a potential transfer is possible.

A player like Zaniolo would be prefect for Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation. In addition, the 22-year-old is exactly the type of player on whom Elliott Management would spare no investment. Young, fast and technically gifted, Zaniolo shocked Italian football with his great from in the first two seasons with Roma. Unfortunately, an ACL injury kept him out for the entire season last year.
The good news for the Rossoneri is that Nicolo is a big fan of Ibra. In a recent interview Zaniolo did not hid his dream of playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “Premier League fascinates me but I’m happy to play in Serie A. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one champion with whom I would like to play“.

AC Milan bounced back with an important 4-2 win away at Empoli this evening, finishing the year in second place. Alexis Saelemaekers and Franck Kessie were two of the standouts for the Rossoneri.

Starting XI
Maignan (6): He could’ve done better on Empoli’s first goal, although perhaps his sight was a bit blocked. He wasn’t called into action much other than that and couldn’t do anything about the penalty.

Florenzi (7): He had a rocky start to the game but improved as the game went on. Got his first goal for Milan with a lovely curling free-kick and that strike secured the three points for the Rossoneri, pretty much.

Tomori (6.5): To be honest, we didn’t see that much of him in the first half as Romagnoli/Florenzi were targeted the most. However, he did well in the second half, also getting forward on a few occasions.

Romagnoli (7): As said, he had to deal with many tough duels and he did quite well with those. Looked like a leader on the pitch and nearly scored with a wonderful volley effort in the final seconds, hitting the crossbar.

Hernandez (7): Decent display in both phases of the game tonight. His rating is obviously helped by the goal he scored, as the ball fell right into his path. It was the correct judgement call to get forward on that occasion.

Tonali (6): We didn’t see that much of him and perhaps that was because of Bennacer and Kessie starting as well. Got carded and was subbed off in the second half, but when he did have the ball he did enough.

Bennacer (6.5): He very much improved as the game went on, shining the most in the defensive phase with his interceptions. Some risky plays, for sure, but he looked quite good tonight.

Messias (6): He saw a lot more of the ball than Tonali but he wasn’t involved in any of the goals. That didn’t make him bad per se, but he just didn’t have a huge impact on the game this evening.

Kessie (7.5): Scored two very important goals and certainly responded to the recent criticism he has received. Fair play to him for taking on the shot on the second goal, when we all thought the angle was too tight.

Saelemaekers (8 – MOTM): A real difference-maker for Milan tonight. He was involved in all four goals: two assists, one hockey assist and won the free-kick that Florenzi converted. In addition, he looked very good on the ball, stunning at times.

Franck Yannick Kessie of AC Milan celebrates

Giroud (6.5): He got the assist for Kessie’s first goal and his presence ended up being important against a strong Empoli backline. Looked a bit worse than it was, in the end he opened up a lot of space.

Substitutes
Bakayoko (5.5): He didn’t shine in open play and a silly handball resulted in the second goal for Empoli. A 1-4 scoreline would have been much nicer for Milan and he’s lucky the lead was so comfortable.

Kalulu (6.5): Very good performance off the bench as he wasn’t afraid to go forward and also was crucial on a few occasions at the back.

Krunic (N/A): We didn’t see enough of him to give a rating.

Diaz (N/A): We didn’t see enough of him to give a rating.
