The Serie A trophy will be handed out on Sunday evening, but with Inter playing at San Siro and Milan away to Sassuolo, this is causing a logistical nightmare for the ceremony.

We go into the final round of the 2021-22 season with only two points separating the teams at the top of the table.

Milan are the leaders and also have a superior head-to-head record with Inter, meaning if the two sides finish level, then the Rossoneri will be crowned Champions of Italy.

With either team able to win and lift the trophy, this is causing a logistical issue for the Lega Serie A.

According to Calcio e Finanza, they are planning to have the various items ready for the Scudetto ceremony at both the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza where Inter face Sampdoria and the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia, which is where Milan take on Sassuolo.

The two stadiums are circa 160km apart, so the Lega Serie A will split representatives with President Lorenzo Casini attending the Milan match and CEO Luigi De Siervo watching Inter.

There will therefore be two replicas of the Serie A trophy, with two sets of awards medals.

🚨Lega Serie A prepared two ceremonies (one in Mapei Staidium and another one in San Siro), two (2) trophies and medals equals to the members of the two squads of Milan and Inter in order to respect the protocol of presentation trophy on time.

The Boss Man Stefano Pioli is surely on fire! 🔥🔥

Milan never defeated Juventus in their new stadium since its foundation?
---Milan beats Juve 0-3
Milan haven't beaten Napoli in their stadium since past 10 seasons?
---Milan beats Napoli 1-3
Milan haven't beaten Atalanta in San Siro in past 7 seasons?
---Milan beats Atalanta 2-0
Milan haven't won a game under referee Daniele Orsato since 2010?
---Milan wins the most crucial game against Atalanta
Milan haven't won 80 or more points since past 10 seasons?
---Milan wins 83 points with a round to go

~ Milan unbeaten in the last 15 league games. Last defeat was against Spezia which was controversial
~ Milan have conceded only 6 goals in the last 15 league games
~ 2nd best defense in Europe since the start of 2022 after Liverpool FC

Stefano Pioli, since his appointment, was facing #PioliOut chants and many new fans didn't trust him in the beginning but let me remind you something...

Nobody trusted or knew Arrigo Sacchi. Milan brought him his 1st title as a coach.
Fabio Capello wasn't a well established coach. Milan brought him his 1st title as a coach.
Carlo Ancelotti's career was getting devastated at Juventus when Milan brought him and he is now among the best coaches of all times.
Max Allegri was struggling with mid table and relegation teams when Milan brought him on the scene and he won his 1st trophy as a coach in 2011.

So the boss man isn't only on fire but he is a curse breaker and so far Stefano Pioli is only 1 point and 95 minutes away from becoming a part of the great coaches mentioned above. He already is a part of it statistically but needs a trophy to cement his position.

Pioli is on Fire!

[Gli Autogol] Junior Messias: “Ibra once kicked me in the face. The first time I saw him we were eating together and he said ‘You don’t speak?’ and then he said ‘Bravo, bravo because you just work’. I never thought too far ahead. Then when I made the jump from D to B, I realised I could do it.”

AC Milan midfielder Junior Messias has admitted that he got emotional when Theo Hernandez put the Rossoneri 2-0 ahead against Atalanta.

Speaking during a long interview on the Gli Autogol Twitch channel (via Milan News), Messias opened up about his feelings during the 2-0 victory over Atalanta that could have been enough to clinch the Serie A title.

“I’ll tell you the truth, yesterday when Theo scored I got emotional. We’re very close to winning, it would really be a piece of history for a team like Milan, it’s a unique thing,” the Brazilian said.

He also pointed out the fact that the crowd at San Siro gave the team an extra boost of energy and excitement on Sunday: “I was focused and I went in quite calmly but with a lot of desire. When we arrived at the stadium, the fans gave us a great boost.”

It is a source of great pride for Messias that he is playing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic this season and he gave him the ultimate compliment.

“The strongest player I have played with is Zlatan, the strongest against was Cristiano Ronaldo,” Messias said.

Messias then revealed an unusual story about the Swede: “He once kicked me in the face. Yesterday he was charged up. The first time I saw him we were eating together and he said ‘You don’t speak?’ and then he said ‘Bravo, bravo because you just work’.

“The desire he has at 40 is impressive. With those who work and commit themselves he is very good, he always tries to help.”

His arrival in Italy

“When I arrived in Italy I started a delivery job and the company had a team: we did CSI and UISP tournaments. It was nice, at the weekend, after work, to go and have fun with friends. I used to run and score goals.”

His amateur career

“I never thought too far ahead: I always looked category by category. Then when I made the jump from D to B, I realised I could do it. In Eccellenza and D there are bad pitches and there is no Var, they can beat you easily.”

The call from AC Milan

“A dream come true: Milan is among the greatest teams in the world. A unique emotion after the path I’ve been on. It wasn’t an easy negotiation but when my agent told me there was this opportunity, I was surprised.”

The most active players in the dressing room

“For me it’s the Spanish guys who make a bit of a mess: [Samu] Castillejo, Theo [Hernandez] and Brahim [Diaz]. If I say that the coach puts on the worst music, he wouldn't let me play anymore: he listens to Italian music that is a bit romantic. [Alessandro] Florenzi is even worse but he puts the music on when everyone leaves.”

His goal against Atletico Madrid

“It was a difficult moment, I was coming back from injury. It was a really big emotion and a relief.”

SERIE A TEAM OF THE SEASON

As the season is moving to its final show Inter and Milan will know their fate on Sunday.

Inter already won 2 trophies this season and Milan is pursuing their first Scudetto in 11 years.

Below are my first 11 of the season so far;

Goalkeeper:
Mike Maignan: it's not arguable that he's the best goalkeeper this season seeing that he missed about 7 matches and still maintains 17 clean sheets ahead of any other goalkeeper in Italy.

Defenders:

Kalulu: the Milan unsung hero, what a bargain by Maldini who has carved out a space for himself in the heart of the defence since kjears Injury.

Tomori: a player with great reflex, hardly commits a foul and has been a support to kalulu in the heart of Milan's defence.

Skrinia: A solid defender and is good in the air.

Theo: his 5 goals and five assists bettered any defender in Italy.

Midfielders:

Barella: a solid midfielder with an eye for goal.

Perisic: I can't help but mention his name as he is arguably the best player for Inter Milan this season, ecstatic.

Brozovic:
Without him Inter Milan is not a formidable team, he lies in the heart of the midfield.

Tonali: his vision and brilliance is something to note, a De Rosi kind of player. Brilliant

Barak: Chievo Verona has a Jewel in their hands, he's good on and off the ball.

Strikers:

Leao: Without him, Milan is kind of weak upfront, he made the list by becoming the only player who is involved in almost all Milan goals this season.

Lautaro Martinez: Inter Milan has a very good striker in him, his goals gave inter Milan an edge over other clubs.

🎙️ Pierre #Kalulu to @beinsports_FR: "There's #Theo, #Maignan and #Giroud on the French team? There's a desire to go, they tell me I'm on the right path and that I have to work."
