AC Milan end association with Tassotti after 35 years of service...

Curva sud:
“ciao inzaghi, the club treated you in a disgusting manner but we will never forget you!”

The Curva Sud said thanks and goodbye to two Milan legends who today were informed of their sacking and didn’t spare their criticism on the way the club has handled the situation.
It’s still not formal but it is well known to everyone that Filippo Inzaghi and Mauro Tassotti have been sacked from Milan and will be replaced by Sinisa Mihajlovic and his coaching staff from Sampdoria.
The club agreed the deal with Miha before firing Inzaghi and on Thursday they informed the former number nine, who has been part of the club since 2001 that his services are no longer required after he could only lead Milan to 10th place.
The Milan ultras, the Curva Sud, released a letter today thanking Inzaghi for the many positive memories, which definitely outnumber the negatives from this past season. The Curva also thanked assistant coach Tassotti who had been working for the club in one role or another for 35 years.

“Ciao Pippo, A long time has passed from the summer of 2001, when it was strange to see you here from Juventus and we didn’t love each other straight away,” the statement reads.

“But you had the skill and tenacity and above all the humility that is needed to tough the heartstrings of every Milanista. Yes, because if in 2003 we lifted the Champions League trophy then we also owe it to you and then you brought us with your goals to the cup and led us to the final..

“And how could we ever forget the goal against Ajax in the last minute of the match? How can we ever forget all the goals in the derby, the goals at Athens on a night that was yours more than it was everyone else’s. Or even the goals at Yokohama.

“No one will forget the goal you scored to get to 300. We many magical European nights and then the last one on which many of us who have loved you truly ripped a tear sadness because we knew it was the last game you play for

“Your picture with your shirt in hand while saluting the Curva Sud at San Siro remains indelible. You then began to coach the youth and with the Berretti and the Primavera, albeit sporadically, we wanted to be near you in the important moments like in the Viareggio cup or in the derby. And no one forgets the gesture at Interello where you let the boys come and celebration with us.

“That’s why today, for those who care for you, it is a sad moment. You arrived in July and even with a squad that wasn’t up to the task, you tried to do your best, you put your heart into it and we always appreciated that.

“We always supported you while the club turned its back in a bid to hide its blame for a poor transfer strategy and continual broken promises. They dumped you on the scrap heap, treating you in a disgusting manner and trying to find substitutes before even telling you their decision.
