How an Australian scientist managed to run away with his cash from Austria in 1938

For those who dont understand. They couldn't take their life savings with them when they left (anything monetary or valuable-wise); however, hangers wouldnt be looked at twice.

That's how he managed to take his money when he left with his family. ETA: He then sold the "hangers" since they were a precious metal. Also see comments for explanation regarding the hanger covers.

Also for those saying he only did it for the money or he could have saved lives or whatever cockamamie thing you want to say -- his family still needed money for their new lives, didnt they?
