Tanzania has a lot of arable land which can be beneficial for agriculture productions and particularly crop production. As per slogan of ''KILIMO KWANZA'' Tanzania should put much emphasize on the safe production, storage and supply of food products so that citizens can not starve.
Firstly, there should be proper organized and well financed research programmes which will ensure the chain of crop production,storage, transportation and finally reaching to final consumer is well operated and organized to avoid unnecessary eruption of infections caused by microbes during storage of those food crops and hence will reduce loss of food products. For instance going through research particularly in soil fertility and minerals found in soil this wi lead to come up with fertilizers which will fit with soil of a certain area experiencing a certain deficiency in minerals because not all soil types have same defiency and hence this will ensure high production of food crops and hence secure food security.
Secondly, the government should provide farmers with applicable knowledge on the use of subsides provided to small scale farmers. Also the subsides provided should be beneficial to farmers in a way that there is also implements for the proper application of the subsides such as fertilizers. Proper use of subsides can bring about profitable outcome in food crop production.
Third, government of Tanzania should put an emphasize on the teaching agriculture subject as a compulsory subject so that students when graduate secondary level they will be able to apply the agricultural knowledge they acquired through their year of study and hence they will be good ambassodor of good agricultural practices. This will help to improve food security in the country by fostering the production and availability of farmers with knowledge equiped from schools.
Lastly, through all these efforts to which goverment, stakeholders and farmers when they adhere will improve food security in the country and for exports.
