Why can't you sit down and get things done?

what's the reason you are not motivated to work on your goals?

to answer these questions we need to learn a little about the human brain.

The brain stayed pretty much the same for thousands of years.

We still run on the hunter-gatherer system which scans vast areas for the prospect of food.

what makes us look for berries and antelopes, now makes us scroll through Instagram and Twitter. The reasons?

Dopamine. You have already heard about it. but it's widely misunderstood. People know dopamine as a feel-good chemical. that's not really true...

Dopamine is a brain chemical that motivates you.

it's released when you think you are about to experience a pleasure. when hunters saw an antelope, they got a hit of dopamine which motivates them to kill it. when you see a notification, dopamine motivates you to click it.

Why is this modern society hijacking your natural reward pathways.

trick your brain into thinking it's doing something important. that's why the urge to indulge so called cheap dopamine is so strong.

I NEED 20 LIKES TO HAVE MORE DOPAMINE TO FINISH THIS THREAD, THANK YOU
