Moja ya mijadala ambayo kwa muda
mrefu imekuwa ikigonga vichwa vya
Bloggers wa Kitanzania, ni hili la
kuhusiana nah ii huduma ya
Matangazo ya mtandaoni
inayoendeshwa na kampuni ya Google,
huduma inayokwenda kwa jina la
Adsense au Google Adsense.
ii ni huduma ambayo
inamuwezesha mtu, kuweka
matangazo ya aina mbalimbali
katika webu/blogi yake, ambapo
mapato yake hutokana na idadi ya
watu walioweza kuyatembelea
matangazo hayo baada ya kuyaona
kupitia webu/blog yake na kasha ku-
click katika viungo vya matangazo
hayo kutokea hapo.
Blogi/webu kadhaa za Watanzania
zina matangazo ya namna hii, na
wengi ambao hawana huduma hii
katika webu/blog zao, wamekuwa
wakiihitaji kwa udi na uvumba kwa
imani ya kuwa wanaweza
kutengeneza vijisenti kupitia kuweka
huduma hiyo katika majukwaa yao.
Lakini je, tumeshawahi kujiuliza ni
kiasi gani kinaweza kupatikana kupitia
huduma hii? Kina nani ambao
walishanufaika na huduma hii hadi
kufikia sasa? Upatikanaji wa mapato
hayo unazingatia vigezo gani hasa?
Maswali haya na mengine mengi
ambayo yamekuwa yakiumiza vichwa
vya wasio na huduma hii na ambao
wanaifukuzia kwa kasi kubwa, pamoja
na wale wenye nayo ambao wanaota
kuja kukusanya vijisenti vyao siku
moja kutokana na huduma hii,
hatujawahi kuyajadili kwa kina, lakini
pengine tunaweza kuyajadili, kuyapima
uzito wake na kasha kutoa maamuzi
kupitia mjadala huu.
Mjadala huu ulianzishwa na bwana
mmoja anayeitwa Eddie , ambaye
aliandika akisema:-
Hello
I am curious whether any of the
citizen media projects subscribed to
the list are successfully using Google
Adsense or other Ads on their blogs/
sites to raise money to support their
ongoing efforts. If you are, please
email me off list eduardo13 [at] gmail
I’m doing some research for the
Rising Voices Guide, and we would like
to add a section on sustainability and
fundraising. Thanks,
Baada ya swali hilo, wadau kadhaa
wakachangia mada hiyo akiwemo
Rubayat , ambaye alijibu akisema:-
I have been operating the blog of mine
for 2 years now. http://
developmentrights.blogspot.com/ . I
used Google Adsense, but did not
receive any single dollar from that.
This is because rising dollar from
advertisement require lots of clicks
from viewers, which is not that easy, i
guess. If you need any comment or
feedback on this issue for research,
please let me know.
Kisha Ramirez Ospina , akafuatia
kuchangia akisema haya yafuatayo:-
Hi Eddie,Very interesting debate can
come from your search.I can tell you
that the average personal blogs of the
majority of ConVerGentes do not have
more than 15 to 35 hits a day. And
they have been blogging for 20 months
now (therefore most of the visits
come from search engines). In our
collective blog, recent efforts to post
more often have resulted in an
average page view of 50 hits a day.
We have not used Adsense yet, in part
because of lack of experience with
this kind of publicity, but also because
I have the feeling, as Rubayat
comments, that the only way to earn
some pennies is by having thousands
of hits daily.
Mjadala ukazidi kuendelea, ambapo
alikuja bwana mchangiaji mwingine
aitwaye Solana, akiwa na haya
yafuatayo kama mchango wake kwa
mada hiyo:-
I’ve researched this for Global Voices
and felt that the earnings for even high
traffic were so low that you couldn’t
justify the negative effect of putting the
ads all over the website.
In August I spoke to a salesperson
from Google Ads who said we could
expect to make around $100 per
100,000 page views a month. I think
the rates have gone down significantly
in the past years. In the past I heard
you could make maybe 40 times as
much.
There is an additional problem when
you provide content from other
countries that a lot of the automated
advertising is a little inappropriate
(“meet Iranian single women” etc).
There are ways to get around this, but
it takes special effort in keywords etc.
Kisha Eddie , mchokoza/muanzisha
mada akarejea tena akiwaambia
waliochangia haya yafuatayo:
Thanks for your replies everyone.
Maybe local advertisement from
business interested in supporting a
cause, but also getting their name out
there may be another option. However,
in developing nations, online
advertisement is way behind the US
(where it’s not always an option for
low traffic sites).
Na, aliporejea tena Ramirez Ospina,
akasema hivi:
I agree with you Eddie. Solana´s
contribution is very illuminating.
Independence from commercial actors
(like the Google) is more valuable for
us than any small money.I think we
could better explore the possibility of
publishing banners coming from
cultural organizations, companies or
foundations interested in supporting us
with some money as a retribution for
giving them some credit for their
donations. A practice very much used
by most documentary filmmakers.
Kimsingi, mjadala naamini bado ungali
unaendelea, lakini hadi hapo, tujiulize
tena, je, upo umuhimu wa kuwa na
huduma hii katika webu/blogi zetu?
