SAVE A WOMAN SAVE ALL GENERATIONS
Among 100,000 women in Tanzania 11 women have experienced gender based violence at some point in their life, According to Global 2013,35% of women worldwide have experienced either physical/sexual intimate violence in their life, never to mention children below 15 years who are currently most affected. Some women are experiencing GBV by being abused by their husbands, and some have been even raped by members of their families. In most cases the issues are left to be discussed and resolved in families, where mostly are left in pain as the African culture still emphasize that men are head of the families hence they need to do all the families decisions something which keeps on repeating as one man cannot discuss another man’s evils.
Imagine a man working in one of the most world organizations brutally abusing his wife and when he is asked why does he do so, he argue that “I am African man, it’s our culture that women cannot have words over men” and this is a well-educated person who is believed by people to help change the community ideas on gender based violence, and still he value his bad culture nevertheless uneducated folks.
Despite government efforts and global measures to try hard to fight against GBV their efforts has not been that fruitful as cases of rape to children and women abusiveness behavior have been increasing day after day, also some Organizations are led by men who still believes that they are superior that women hence even in offices women maybe violated and cannot shout out about it as the superiors are the same people who violate the laws. For-instance some women are asked for sex in order to be recruited to some posts, some cannot be upgraded to higher posts because some men believe they cannot be led by women.
In family’s girls are raped by uncles, brothers and mostly now days even their fathers, yet a mother of a girl experiencing GBV cannot report the issue to the police due to the fact that she believes reporting it will destroy the family’s name and future, so the issue is not even discussed within the family itself, A child is told never to mention it to any one, so she grows with trauma and psychological torture alone waiting for Karma’s justice.
We are creating a world of majority people with psychiatric problems, people who will grow someday and seek revenge, people who will be afraid of men all their life, people who will lose self-confidence, no self-esteem and today we fail to recognize this or we ignore it as a challenge yet we make emphasize to women to become leaders and develop self-confidence. How will she built confidence when she was raped as a kid and nothing was done, she is being asked for sex in order for her to be recruited, she is facing violence in her marriage.
Objective
To raise community awareness on the implications of the GBV’s to the community/society.
To promote women independence so as to reduce risks for GBV
To help build confidence/ psychological support to women faced rape cases.
GOAL: To build a world with no gender discrimination, a world with peace and harmony to all women.
Vision: To Create a world with no boundaries to girl.
