A Tanzanian doctor who was arrested by Malawi Police for conducting illegal trial vaccines to several HIV/Aids sufferers, a practice which led to the death of seven people has been released on bail.
High Court sitting in Zomba City granted bail to McOsano Thadeo was working at St. Luke Hospitals palliative care section for HIV/Aids patients, where he conducted his allegedly unauthorised trials.
In granting the bail, the court bonded the Tanzanian doctor with a US$200 and was told to surrender his travel documents.
He has been given another bail condition of reporting to Zomba Police Drug Section twice a week.
Head of Drug Section at Zomba Police Station, Richard Nyirenda confirmed they will be handling reporting directions of Thadeo.
The Tanzania will appear in court on 8 November to start trial.
The court is waiting for report from the Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board to be used as objective evidence in the case.
