When I was learning English I used to write the new vocabularies I found from different books with their meaning on a piece of paper and start cramming them. This method was not effective since I forgot most of them because I was not using them in my communication. Later I learned a better and effective way that I would like to share with you. To increase you vocabulary bank and remember the new words, you can take them say three words per week.
Make sure in most of your conversation you use those words, or you start any story that will utilise those words you are aimed at. By so doing, since you will be using the new words frequently they will be moved from your temporary memory to the permanent memory and they will stay there as long as you live. This proves the law of use and disuse, you can know many vocabularies today but if you do not use them frequently you will start losing one vocabulary after another.
For example you can replace
1. "briefly" by "in a nutshell"
2. "completely" by "altogether"
3. "put at risk" by "jeopardise"

I used the same method that didn't work with you as to me ,now i change

I'd rather not be doing any "clamming", would I? Aqua

This rationalizes the Kiranga method, which embraces the frequent employment of a vastly abundant- by Tanzanian standards at least- diction to challenge, entertain and exercise practisice in the the English language, to the chagrin of his interlocutors, anti-popes and pretend-usurpers.

How many new vocabularies have you increased in your bank last month? If you have not then you are not growing and if you are not growing you know what will happen to you next.Be a life learner, learn something new everyday.

It is obviously good practice to find a way you can build yourself everyday. However, there are too many ways one can learn new words including new names, ideas etc. The most important thing is for one to know what works for them and what does not.

It is also very good to try new ways before you settle for one. I for myself, meditating or words, ideas or stories has made me more confident than I used to be!
