SoC04 Introducing of 2 years of industrial training (Hands-On in related fields) for graduate ICT student in order to improve their skills and experience

Introduction:
The field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) demands that graduates not only possess theoretical knowledge but also practical experience to navigate the dynamic landscape effectively. Introducing a mandatory two-year industrial training program for graduate ICT students is a transformative step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry. This initiative aims to equip students with hands-on experience, enhancing their skills and making them industry-ready upon graduation. The rationale behind this program is multifaceted, encompassing the need for practical exposure, the development of soft skills, and the the cultivation of a professional network.

Currently:
In Tanzania education sector, especially in the ICT side, many students have been graduating their studies and find themselves still not realizing what they can do in the world of employment reliable and start earning. Where this thing has led most of the graduates to finish and lack of job opportunities and confidence in the world (market) of employment. Practical training that is often given in schools (colleges) for a few sessions for some colleges use from one, two or two and a half months (large percentage) of time which is not enough equip and prepare Tanzanian youth to the world of employment competition and self-employment as well.

But also this thing has also led to a lack of innovation and the rapid growth of technology as we see today's world, technology has increased and every day new things are being discovered but due to the lack of experience and good knowledge has led our nation to be behind for a large part in reaching the standards good for providing people with the ability and knowledge in abundance. An example in the area of cyber security and digital forensic is an area that needs a lot of experts at the moment, they are very few and several do not have the required skills.

Solution:
So to overcome this situation we can come out with 2 years of practical experience for all ICT related field , also even other fields in which they involve new technology relating to our country Tanzania and Africa continent. And this may be operated by Government as by involving public and private sectors to recruit those graduate and award them with certificate on accomplishing those years.

How it will works, Through this idea the students will graduate then the Government will rearrange the graduate students with the help of the specific University to various selected places like research centers, In government work areas, and other related areas involving ICT, the students after accomplishing they will equipped more in such a way that will be very easier for them to innovate new ideas and also employing them selves.​

Advantages of this idea (Benefits):

1. Increase the number of bright minded and innovative graduates in which will be beneficial to the country and the World in general: Through the gained experience, graduate will be more active and participatory in various technological activities then will be able to come out with new ideas, techniques, skills, knowledge, and new challenges that will add on skills and experience for an individual.​
2. Reduce the number of unskilled graduates and unemployment rate: Through the experience gained from industry for two years, then those graduate will be able to employ them selves as well as being trusted in-side and out-side the country for job opportunity.​
3. Technological growth in our country: Through the increase in the number of skilled ICT personnel, then the improvement of technology will be increased day by day as those skilled minded will be participating effectively in various ICT operations, learning, and activities in which through the technology may rise up.​
4. Also increasing the number of experts and professionals, also solving various challenges, where through the commitment of a large number of graduates will lead increase the workforce in performance and it will also help to find good actors who would otherwise not have been given the opportunity necessary practical learning would not be found and in the end they would end up staying in other areas where performance they would not be as good as in the ICT area where they will be.​
5. We are also increasing the number of participants or people who are interested in ICT in our nation and as we see digital now It is one of the key drivers of development, so increasing the number of community members in this area will also contribute to a large part of it development of our nation.​

Conclusion:

There is importance in getting a long period of practical training but also the government to put in place a good system that will enable graduates of the form six before coming to university should have the correct knowledge about the various programs that they will encounter so that it is easy for them to choose and find the parts they like and will enjoy learning at any cost.
