Iran stress expansion of ties with Tanzania, Sri Lanka

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani received letters of credence from new Tanzanian and Sri Lankan ambassadors to Tehran, stressing expansion of bilateral ties.
"Tanzania is an important gateway to the east of Africa, and given the status and capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, developing of bilateral relations is of grave importance," said president Rouhani.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in increasing the level of cooperation with Tanzania," said President Rouhani on Saturday while receiving the credentials of the new non-resident Ambassador of Tanzania to Tehran Mubarak Nasser Mubarak.
The president noted, "Iran and Tanzania enjoy ample capacities for expansion of ties in industries such as mining and energy, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to offer Tanzania its expertise in the fields."
During the meeting, the new Tanzanian non-resident Ambassador to Tehran Mubarak Nasser Mubarak presented his letter of credence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, "Iran has achieved great success and advancements in various scientific and technical fields, particularly in energy industry, and I hope we can benefit from Iran’s experiences and expertise."
Elsewhere, President Rouhani also received the letter of credence from the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Tehran, Sharif Anis on Saturday and emphasized the need to develop, strengthen and mobilize Tehran-Colombo relations.
Referring to the necessity of expanding Iran-Sri Lanka banking relations, the president expressed optimism that Iran and Sri Lanka would deepen relations and cooperation to the benefit of the two nations.
During the meeting, the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Tehran, Sharif Anis presented his letter of credence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and referred to the longstanding relations between Iran and Sri Lanka in various cultural, political, commercial and economic sectors, and emphasized the need for efforts to develop and mobilize the two countries' relations and cooperation.
