Issue with Windows XP PRO Log On/Log Off Loop

I am getting this nasty issue of being kicked off my windows xp laptop whenever I login either in normal mode or safe mode and either using local admin account or domain account.

I tried the following;

• Repair userinit.exe file and restore its registry setting
• Repair Windows using Xp recovery console
• Fix windows mbr
• connected th HDD externally on another laptop and cleaned for viruses/malwares/spyware (Caught and removed The Win32/Virut virus )

When I login it revert back to the login screen... Any idea or workaround to solve this problem as I don't want to re-load windows in my system.
