JKIA ranked 2nd fastest growing cargo airport in the world by the Airports Council International (ACI) in their latest World Airport Traffic Report.
East Africa's largest and busiest airport by far handled 25% more cargo in 2018 than in 2017.
JKIA alone handles more passengers and cargo than all airports in the other EAC countries combined.
This is despite unsuccessful efforts by neighbors to boost their numbers by building new terminals.
