13. Applicants for:

Lecturer must possess PhD plus a minimum GPA of 4.0 or a B+ average at Master’s degree level and an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher from an internationally reputable higher bearing institution. They must be potentially good academically.

Assistant Lecturer must possess a minimum GPA of 4.0 or a B+ average at Master’s degree level and an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher from an internationally reputable higher bearing institution. They must be potentially good academically.

Tutorial Assistant must possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8.

14. Main Duties for: -​

Lecturer:
  1. Carries out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  2. Sets, invigilates and marks undergraduate and postgraduate examinations
  3. Mentoring junior staff in relevant fields
  4. Participates /contributes in curriculum development
  5. Participates in developing and managing various university/constituent college activities;
  6. Conducts research and publish/disseminate results
  7. Carries out consultancy and community services
  8. Writes teaching manuals and compendia
  9. Supervises field practicals, undergraduate special projects, Masters and PhD dissertations/theses
  10. Attends /organize workshops, conferences and symposia; and
  11. Performs any work of the University as assigned by relevant authorities

Assistant Lecturers:

  1. Carries out lectures, seminars, tutorials and practicals for undergraduate programmes
  2. Sets, invigilates and marks undergraduate examinations
  3. Assists senior staff in lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practicals for postgraduate programmes iv. Supervises projects and practical training for undergraduate students
  4. Conducts research and publishes results;
  5. Carries out consultancy and public service
  6. Undergoes postgraduate training to PhD level
  7. Participates in relevant workshops and conferences; and
  8. To perform any other relevant duties assigned by one’s superior

Tutorial Assistants:

  1. Under-studies senior members of academic staff by attending their lectures seminars, tutorials and practicals
  2. Carries out seminars, tutorials and practicals
  3. Assists in research, consultancy and public service
  4. Performs any other relevant duties assigned by one’s superior; and
  5. Undergoes postgraduate training for the master’s degree
15. TERMS OF SERVICE
Permanent and pensionable.
