Do the strike still on todate?Recently our country specifically Dar es salaam (Kariakoo), there is an ongoing strike waged by businessmen boycotting a long chain of taxes posing to them. This is a bad picture to our loyal government as reveals how it failed to make prior solutions to her people.
If the strike continue for the next five days we are destroying our economy for no serious reason. I beg the government to call upon serious and permanent solutions to the problems facing the Kariakoo business owners.

If I were to give advice. I would have all TRA officers assigned to shops, meaning one officer should be working in like ten shops or so helping the business men keeping the records and teaching them how to tax. And a good part all this services are to be given for free. But since these officers are paid by the government not really they will be working for free😀The underlying problems in the saga, I suppose, are two folds namely; (1) Ignorance of many bussiness men on tax education, (2) Reluctance of TRA to deliver the proper tax payer education.
In no 1, many business men don't know what types of tax to be paid for what scenario of goods and in which criteria resulting in not only double but mult-taxation in certain cases. The Mult-taxing is a big burden for business men prompting them to find treacherous ways of evasion if not close the business before it collapses, TRA takes this situation as an advabtage.
Custom duty, Exercise tax and Value added tax etc, to mention just a few, are some of taxes which are statutory legal each with its respective purpose, the purposes that business men suppose to know.
You’re mind is so blind😂😂😂 sometimes you don’t even recognize who you’re 😂😂😂Not naive🤣
still perhaps I am being modest😀
In the first post if I recon, it says there is a strike going on.No strike on date the business is going qs usual
The strike is over and still discussing better ways for business men to pay taxes. In the first post if I recon, it says there is a strike going on.
I think our fellow should say THERE WAS A STRIKE somedays ago.
Our government must rethink against these prolonged tax chains
TRA have been used as political stinger for decades, resulted to these claims of double taxaction etcThe strike is over and still discussing better ways for business men to pay taxes.
Prolonged tax chains huh.
Its not right for one product to be taxed more than one times. The TRA collect taxes on one object many times making things very unnecessarily expensive.
I know who I am. I am Gily aka Gru leader to minions😀You’re mind is so blind😂😂😂 sometimes you don’t even recognize who you’re 😂😂😂
Reforms only will be possible with new administration, a new set of eyes and outside box mindsetTRA have been used as political stinger for decades, resulted to these claims of double taxaction etc
TRA needs an overhaul reform for the betterness and trade stability
Reforms only will be possible with new administration, a new set of eyes and outside box mindset
reforming TRA won't help. Maguful reformed TPA and we are in same deep waters as before🤔
