Wizara ya Afya imetangaza watu 178 kuwa wamepona 79 kati yao wakiwa ni wale waliokuwa wakijitibia nyumbani na hivyo idadi ya watu waliopona imefikia 94,361

Watu 1,590 wapo chini ya uangilizi wa kitabibu katika vituo vya afya na watu 5,998 wakiwa wanatibiwa majumbani mwao wakiwa wamejitenga, 200 wanapatiwa wana hali mbaya na wamewekewa Oksijeni

Twenty more people have been reported to have succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya pushing the total fatalities to 2,244.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that one death occurred in the last 24 hours, 10 in the last one month while 9 are late death reports from facility record audits that occurred on diverse dates.

At the same time, 460 more people tested positive for COVID-19 from a sample size of 2,753 tested in the last 24 hours. This represents a positivity rate of 16.7%. This now brings the total confirmed positive cases to 139,448.

The 460 cases are distributed across the country as follows: Nairobi 295, Kitui 62, Machakos 29, Kiambu 28, Nyeri 12, Nakuru 12, Kajiado 9, Kilifi 4, Mandera 3, Laikipia 2, Meru 1, Mombasa 1, Nyandarua 1 and Kakamega 1.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health also announced that 178 patients have recovered from the disease, 99 from various health facilities while 79 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care. Total recoveries now stand at 94,361.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 1,590 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 5,998 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 200 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 40 of whom are on ventilatory support and 130 on supplemental oxygen. 30 patients are on observation.

“Another 240 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 223 of them in the general wards and 17 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU),” said the Ministry.
