If Jambo Jet manages to capture anything between 10% (60,000 passengers) and 15% (100k PAX) Of the total passengers that fly to/fro Mogadishu using one plane, That would be good business!!!! Ungeachiwa uwe manager wa Jambojet ungei ua ndani ya miezi sita na hizo fikra zako.. Stop putting emotions is what is a pure business decision...

I see you haven't stopped making up stories to fit your narrative.

1. KQ is using JamboJet for that route, Jambojet is a low cost carreir which is a completely different model compaired to a legacy carrier like ET. Besides, ET flyie to 90 Destinations globally, KQ flies 53 destinations.... If KQ was to react to ET don't you think they would have started with all the other routes????

2. KQ/Jambo Jet applied for that Route last Year, this was before there was rigorous security preparation planned and arranged with Somalia. When Somali new president came for a state visit in the beginning of last year 2017, It was then agreed Kenya will send security agents to Mogadishu who will then coordinate security arrangement for flights comming into Kenya, and as a result Kenya would stop requiring planes from Somali to Land in Wajir first. This is what made it possible for KQ/JamboJet to apply for KCAA licence since it now made business sense to fly directly.

3. Jambojet expansion plans started before Ethiopia Resumed Direct flights to Mogadishu, So if anyone is reacting it would be Ethiopia who didn't want to miss out....... So for avoidance of Future misconception... Here is a list of 16 new Regional routes JamboJet is planning to launch So you dont have to make up theories every time you here new route being launched.

Jambojet was in May 2017 granted regulatory approval to fly to 16 routes including Entebbe, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, Kigali, Juba, Bujumbura, Hargeisa, Mogadishu, Goma, Kisangani and Moroni.

Jambojet aim is to become a true regional airline that flies to Every notable city in EA and horn of Africa. Also Remember that KQ also flies to Some of these destinations but its not considered that this will put them in direct competition.. Because these two airlines have two different business models catering for two different types of customers...
 
ET was in mogadishu first. KQ is just reactionaly.. To add to that Ethiopia has no diplomatic tensions with alshabab

Then you clearly have no idea what diplomacy entails. There isn't any type of diplomacy when it comes to terrorists. Furthermore, Somalia has a functioning government(albeit with constant attacks against it). No entity, wheter public or private, international or local deals with alshabaab directly, not even Turkey, the biggest investor in Somaliland and Somalia and their national carrier, Turkish Airlines flies to Mogadishu too. Your point makes no sense at all.
 
Tz think they are the only Nation developing in Africa. Just look at Somalia.
 
I did not say Ethiopia et al have formal diplomatic relations wih Alshabab(has exchanged diplomats and set up emabassies etc)They simply do not have tensions with the extremist group despite contributing troops for AMISOM. That is a lesson for Uhuru kenyatt to learn

When did KDF forces join the fight against terrorism in Somalia? Who sent them, and what is there to learn, friendship between alshabab and Ethiopia? Is that even a thing? I don't get your dotted line of thought.
 
Former chief of staff General Karangi Mis adviced Kibaki to take KDF to somalia and "Occupy it" He was motivated by the UN payments that stood at 200k per soldier per month..Uhuru took power in 2013 and saw opportunity to sell charcoal, something the UN has exposed and condemned..
KDF only needs to keep kenya- Somali boarder safe from illigal immigrants and use police and intelligece to trackdown alshabab in eastleigh and their sympathisers..Occupying/ deploying military in a foreign country is a Mistake..One that Ethiopia Has avoided..Amisom is now only KDF and some burundians, UG Left afrer UN Cut the Payments

Fastjet Tanzania has signalled losses.
The company on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, announced the appointment of Mr Lawrence Masha its first executive chairman, the strongest indication yet of the plan to disengage from Fastjet Plc.
The appointment of the former cabinet minister who is also a minority shareholder in the airline is one of the planned interventions to steady the airline from operational crosswinds.
Fastjet Plc. CEO Nico Bezuidenhout recently issued a red alert on the company over mounting debts and inability to fund day-to-day operations.
He said they were considering closing the Tanzania operations should shareholders not urgently pump in more liquidity.
Fastjet Plc announced half-year operational loss of $14.6 million (over TSh33 billion, Ksh1.47 billion) in June as opposed to $13.2 million over the same period last year.
The company planned to raise $44 million (Over TSh100 billion, Ksh1.95 billion) last year September but only managed $28 million.
The airline’s majority shareholders feel it was untenable to continue bailing out the loss making company.
Fastjet Plc operations are anchored in Tanzania from where it flies to a few countries but has recently struggled to get enough traffic while regulatory bottlenecks have delayed plans to scale down operations by deploying the cheaper and efficient ATR aircraft.
Turnaround strategy
Mr Masha would therefore be expected to quickly oversee a turnaround strategy that include making the airline wholly owned by Tanzanians.
“Mr Masha will be working closely with the company’s management team to oversee the smooth operation of the airline and the (equity) buyout which is currently in progress,” Fastjet Tanzania general manager, Mr Derrick Luembe, said in a statement seen by The Citizen.
Details of the plan by Fastjet Tanzania to purchase all stake from the mother company will likely be made public tomorrow November 9, 2018 at a planned briefing of the media.
“We are optimistic that Mr Masha’s experience in various sectors will help us attain our set goals,” said Mr Luembe.
Mr Masha is also chairman of Board of Tanga Cement and Ecoprotection. He is also a member of the Board of the Newforest Company and managing partner of Gabriel and Co. Attorneys.
“As a former minister for Home Affairs, deputy minister for the then ministry of Energy and Minerals and managing director of Tanzania Oxygen Limited , the board has confidence that under his stewardship the airline will grow stronger,” said Mr Luembe.
Fastjet Tanzania has over its six years of operations carried more than 2.5 million passengers in Tanzania alone.
The budget career, which operates flights between Dar es salaam and Mwanza, Mbeya, Kilimanjaro, Lusaka and Zimbabwe, records an average of 30,000 passengers on a monthly basis.
Fastjet Tanzania Plc was founded in November 29, 2012 after the acquisition of Fly540 in the same year. It runs a fleet of two Embraer E190 aircraft.
