Police in Kirinyaga are pursing a man who allegedly killed his friend and business partner over avocados.
The suspect is said to have killed Bedan Muriithi, aged 28, at Kibai village, Rung’eto sub-location in Gichugu constituency.
According to an eyewitness, Muriithi was confronted by the suspect outside a local bar on Wednesday night who demanded to know why he was selling avocados to his clients without his knowledge.
The suspect is then alleged to have stabbed Muriithi twice with a kitchen knife before running away.
Muriithi’s relatives said the suspect is a well known criminal in Kibai village.
Angry residents later stormed his home and burned his house down.
