Yes you can say that.It is simple, ( (i/n)X100) where i= number of deaths and n= total number of infected. In probability, the question can be framed as "What are the chances of a person dying if they get infected with the covid19 virus?". Now we can do the calculation for current data in Kenya and Tanzania. Of course all factors like age, underlying conditions and factual correctness are assumed.
Let us start with Kenya.
Kenya has a reported 189 infected persons out of which 7 have died, so the probability of dying due to the Covid19 virus in kenya is (7/189)=0.037037037037037
Tanzania has 32 confirmed infections out of which 3 have died, so the probability of dying due to the Covid19 virus in Tanzania is (3/32)=0.09375
To get the percentage, you will need to multiply the probability by 100, let us do that now (In other words, we are asking what percentage of people die after contracting the virus)
1) Kenya: (0.037037037037037x100)=3.7037037037037%, round off the nearest 2 decimal points it becomes 3.7%
2) Tanzania: (0.09375x100)=9.375, round off to the nearest 2 decimal points, it becomes 9.38%.
