Has Kenya Ended the Tanzanian Way?

When Kenya closed down her major activities and businesses inarch 2020, there were just a few Covid-19 cases reported in the state. Since then, cases have upsurged at an alarming rate, causing tension amongst kenyans. Even as we continue to fight against the virus, it's good to ask ourselves whether Kenya has ended the Tanzanian way of Managing the Covid-19 disease?
When countries were closing down schools, places of worship, and other places that may facilitate the spread of the virus, Tanzania was the only country in eastern Africa that didn't take the measures seriously. In fact business in Tanzania continued as normal. At some point, the head of state has been believing that the COVID-19 is real. He once several months ago dismissed testing kits after samples from none human beings tested positive for the disease.
Since the removal of the partial lockdown in Kenya this week, there are clear signals showing that Kenya is also copying the Tanzanian way. This comes in after Transport Cs Said that tourism activities in the nation will resume as normal, and there will be no more mandatory quarantine.
“All passengers shall be exempt from quarantine on arrival at their destinations if their body temperature is not above 37.5 37.5 degree Celsius and they do not have a persistent cough, difficulty in breathing and other flu-like symptoms. This is important because we do not expect a tourist to come from wherever they land here and then they are quarantined for 14 days," Said CS Macharia yesterday.
As per my own opinion, this move clearly shows that something fishy has been happening all through four months because it's sensical to close a country when having less than 10cases and open when its 8000. Again when the Tanzanian government raised the alarm concerning the testing kits, in Kenya business continued as normal. What does this one tell us?
