Boss, the fact that U.N created the category MIC does not stop World bank from ranking countries using that same category. World bank uses it also, it doesn't matter who started it

Looks like you are hard-headed. You don't understand.Wasikilize watanzania, they are brighter!
Jamaa umeenda wapi? Unaona sasa, unakuja na fujo halafu ukishindwa debate unatoroka

Hapa ni facts tu!
World bank considers Kenya a Middle income country. Facts don't change just because you don't like it or you are uncomfortable with it.
Actually, I'm not uncomfortable at all.
Middle Income is a category given by IMF/WB. The threshold is only based on income/capita.

LDC is a category under UN Committee for Development Policy. (CDC) and it monitors socio-economic factors especially the vulnerability part.
Inclusion is not Mandatory and graduation from LDC is vigorous, it takes more than 6years to graduate. Angola is graduating in 2021 just because its GNP per capita is more than the 1,025$ threshold. It's almost quadruple that. But it had to withstand 6 years of vulnerability test.
Equatorial guinea graduated based on the same.
There are middle-income countries which are LDCs, Tanzania is a middle-income country, all is needed is for the FM to announce it, and the IFM/WB does not dispute it. The GDP is a bit above 55B$ more than 1,025$ per capita.
Myanmar, Sudan, Zambia, Senegal are both LDC and middle-income countries.

Na wewe pia nakumbuka ukisema Angola sio middle income. Angalia sasa Angola iko kwenye list. Hapana cheza na world bank
Ofcourse,Angola is LDC..Set to graduate to MIC in 2021.. Soma website vizuri uone maana ya hiyo (*) kwenye data

I am in agreement with everything you have said except that Tanzania has Gdp per capita of $1,025. The last time i checked, it was above $900 but below $1,025. I need to see some evidence before i believe it.

Ldc kwa U.N sawa. Coz U.N wana procedure mrefu ya kutoka L.D.C lakini hio haimaanishi eti Angola ni Ldc. It just means Angola will wait longer in the U.N system but in the world bank system hakuna kungoja, mkishafikisha gdp per capita ya $1,025 mara moja mnavushwa hadi middle income, hakuna kungoja sijui six years

Hizo ni propaganda tupu na kawaida Jubilee kuhongana hata kuhonga na kufurusha ma kesi ya Korti za ICC. When Did Kenya Become Middle Income? Mwaka gani? Tunajua Equitorial Guinea imekuwa MIC 2017, Kenya When?

The day GDP per capita passed $1,230 by UN definition. The rest go argue with your relatives.

We actually attained it in 2014, briefly before we devalued our Shilling by 40%, resulting in our nominal GDP to drop into hundreds.
Just study our GDP for a min and you will observe the hockey-stickying I'm talking about.

Devaluation is a tactical move to boost our exports, it's a trick. So is staying as an LDC, since you get a lot of preferential trade benefits (eg with EU).
I'm showing you an excerpt from a UN expert, speaking of what it really means when a Nation gets the middle-income status.

"One thing that is lacking is any positive incentive to graduate, other than the reputational benefits. Countries simply face a slower loss of support rather than any new special benefits for recent LDC graduates.
The countries that graduate risk the middle-income trap whereby they are no longer competitive on the basis of low costs and cheap labour, but they have not yet developed the technological sophistication or moved up the value-adding ladder far enough to leapfrog into upper middle-income status. So, they are stuck in this no man's land where they really need new sources of help, or revitalised economic policies, to promote development"
Daniel Gay, the inter-regional adviser on least developed countries (LDCs) with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA)
