It is not bad to ask. Kenya is named after its Largest Mountain that wa initially called Kere Nyaga in Kikuyu, In short the Word Kenya means a "Mountain of Whiteness"

A mountain can be seen from far and is shining with Whiteness.

That is Kenya.

We are the people who shine and we are the people that lights the way for others, we are the people of whiteness and holiness, a blessed country, that is why our national anthem is a prayer. In our National Anthem, we don't boast like many countries do, but it is a true reflection and meditation to God! Have you ever known that some of our sports people in say Olympics literally cry when our Anthem is played??? It evokes patriotism that no other country can ever have!!

What about Tanzania?? Tanganyika?

Tanga ni swahili word meaning Tembea tembea ama zurura

Nyika - Mahali kame, mahali ambapo ni Jangwa.

Ila acheni kujipa kiki kwa wazungu kwa kusema mlima Kilimanjaro ni wa kwenu Kenya!
