Kenya not to send troops to South Sudan.... Amina Mohamed

hii statement is very unfair, walikuwa wapi wakati magaidi walivamia somalia?

Aloo wewe morio, kwani Al-Shabaab ni kina nani? Si ni wasomali wenyewe. Sasa iweje wasomali waitwe wavamizi?
Ni kama kusema mungiki wamevamia Kenya...that's an oxymoronic statement right there bro.

Kenya ndio imevamia Somali in the pretext of bringing peace to the region. On that, the jury is still out there.

Meanwhile lets stick to the goings on in South Sudan where the US has urged all foreign troops to step out.

oh the US urging the foreign forces to step out so that US NGO's bring food medicine, water..etc..etc to sudan... is this sustainable in the long run...they should speak bloody sense to the riek and his troops to cease fire and resort to democracy.....I also did not expect somalis to bring peace to themselves, not long ago now or even in the future so you cannot call that interference, the effort was worth it.

I agree with you lakini Kwani hivi sasa ni majeshi wa uganda wangapi washkufa s sudan? sio ishu ya kupeleka majeshi kiholela,

..majirani wa South Sudan need to be very decisive militarily.

Uganda wamepeleka askari South Sudan, while Kenya is hiding behind peace negotiations.

..Mimi nadhani kwenye masuala ya ulinzi, usalama, na kijeshi, Kenya can not be trusted.

Mkuu, it is in the interest of everybody for Kenya not to participate militarily in South Sudan. In any case which party would Kenya side with in this conflict? Already one member of IGAD ( Uganda ) has already sent in troops at the invitation of the South Sudanese president Mr Salva Kiir. Other IGAD members have restrained themselves in order to give dialogue a chance. It is NEVER about being cowards. True, Uganda's presence there helped to stem the tide and forced the combatants in to the negotiating table, but we cannot all send in troops for this will amount to a free for all war. If Kenyans are cowards as you allege then so are the Ethiopians, Eritreans and the North Sudanese and may be even perhaps the US and UN.

The way the Al Shabulbs are dealing with KDF in Somalia and general public within Kenya i don't think Kenya can dare to sneak their noses anywhere....it is a big dose to chew!

Dealing or being dealt with? How are they doing it if i may ask? For your information KDF is leaving pacified Kismayo to Siera Leonian troops in order to move to Gedo region to continue with the fighting and to wrestle more territory. Only 120 KDF officers will remain in Kismayo to assist the Siera Leonians. How about that? I reckon you didn't even know about it.
Anyway, i would like to wish TPDF well in the new DRC task. You see unlike you we do not dwell on pouring scorn at other people's armed forces. We know that is your hobby of course.

We have a defense pact with Ethiopia too dating back to 1963. Did you know about that? South Sudan's neighbors are not just Kenya and Uganda. We have Ethiopia and North Sudan too among others. We will get involved militarily only if it becomes necessary, for now we have not seen the need nor reason to do that. Why don't you just be patient? TPDF too just got involved in DRC just the other day yet fighting there dates back to almost a decade, so why the double standards? DRC is your neighbor too. Am i wrong?

tatizo ni jeshi la sudan kusini imegawanyika kikabila a fructured army unit is the biggest hindrance currently.
kwa hivyo jeshi hilo haliwezi kutegemewa.
ssudan have everything to loose and needs to nurture the ethopia talks and learn that it is not impossible to go another half century of fighting if they do not respect the country's constitution. they want to resolve this by consulting peacekeeping troops, up town them. this was a very misguided move given that the elections were just around the corner.

livefire jitete a philanthropic unit to be dispatched from kenya to ssudan, are there any plans?

Geza,
It is not like the Ugandans themselves have been attacked. It is them who went to South Sudan. It would be different if a foreign force actually invaded Uganda, that way a defense pact will come into play. Ama?

SS hawakusaini? BTW It was Tanzania that turned down the first draft that did not explain what is to happen if a member state is seeking a help and is proven to be an aggressor :smile-big:

..IMHO, with their handling of South Sudan, I see Kenya repeating the mistakes that Tanzania made in her handling of DRC crisis in 1998.

..we did not support the first SADC military operation that was supposed to shield Kabila Snr frm attack by Rwanda and Uganda.

..tumefanya makosa makubwa sana, and now we are paying a heavy price ya ku-host refugees, and send our troops to DRC to fight rebel groups that were not even there in 1998.

then the Sadc forces did a very poor job in 1998. halafu pia lazima kujua kama Kabila alivamiwa na militia/ rebels au dissidents from the congolese army. the case in ssudan is very different, because dissidents within the south sudanese army are the source of rebellion.

it resembles the 60s case when CIA operations to ouster Ghanian President kwame nkurumah were rife in the continent. waasi kwenye jeshi la Ghana were the easiest option.

its obvious Sudanese govt is able to defend itself from forest rebels. but this is quite unique. So with uganda foot in ssudan, is this a decleration of war??
