Three main television stations in Kenya will remain off air until the government completes a probe into the "swearing-in" of the opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i said Wednesday that the government has started investigations "targeting individuals" over the mock inauguration on Tuesday at Nairobi's Uhuru Park.
The Nation Media Group's NTV, Royal Media's Citizen, and Standard Group's KTN News were switched off mid-morning Tuesday for airing live footage of the National Super Alliance event.
“Media houses will remain closed until we complete investigations,” Dr Matiang'i told a press briefing that was aired by state-run broadcaster KBC.
