Kisumu residents were on Friday seen scrambling for oil after they found a leak from the Kenya Pipeline Corporation connection.

Police who arrived at the scene in Kibos area had trouble dispersing the crowd that had started building up.

“Following a suspected pipeline leak in Kisumu, KPC emergency team is currently undertaking the repairs. Stocks not affected,” KPC said in a tweet.

A tunnel approximately 50 metres long leading to the KPC line was discovered during the Friday incident.

In one of the deadliest accidents in Kenya’s history in 2009, dozens were killed and several others injured after hundreds of residents scrambled to collect oil.

11 people were killed and 200 seriously injured when they scrambled to collect oil from an overturned tanker in Sachang’wan.

Which pain?. We can do without our very own excavated oil. After all we've been doing with what we've been importing. Kenya has never been highly dependent on minerals. I was expecting to read how meager our oil reserves are as per your heading, only to start talking of how people are scrambling for spilt oil due to a fault line nkt!... Two different things that are neither here nor there.

I might not be coming from kibera, but l can assure you that the IQ of kibera people is far much ahead of that one of a majority of you here. Listen to yourself!, you sound empty. Do you know even the meaning of reading between the lines?. Learn how to craft proper articles with relevant titles.

Point ni kwamba Kenya biashara ya kusafirisha mafuta kwa Magari hawataiweza, itawaongezea gharama na kuongea uhalifu/ujambazi kwahiyo ni bora waungane na Tz/Uganda kusafirisha kwenye pipeline lasivyo hata hayo mafuta kidogo waliyonayo yataishia kuwalipa watu mishahara, ulinzi na hasara nyingine. Yalianza na nyinyi watz. Wakenya walizuia magari ya kubeba watalii kutoka Tz kuingia viwanja vya ndege Kenya, baada ya Tz kuzuia magari ya kubeba watalii ,ya kikenya, kuvuka boda na kuingia kwenye mbuga za wanyama Tz. Mbona mlinyooka haraka hivyo na mkalegeza? Yaani baada ya huo unafik ulitegemea tuwape shavu la pili?
