Officials from the Ministry of Health have been forced to suspend a meeting that was meant to train select staff on the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). This is after tens of Kenyans got access to the meeting's login credentials, raided the session, and broke into anti-SHIF chants.

One of the speakers can be heard saying, "This meeting has been hijacked and interfered with; can you hear what they are singing?" The speaker's comments, however, do not prevent the hijackers from pressing on with their chants.

Organizers of the meeting were forced to fold the session and reset the links after the invaders became ungovernable. It's alleged that the login details of the Teams meeting were leaked by one of the Ministry of Health officials who was taking part in the training.

The new health scheme, which is replacing NHIF and set to be launched on October 1, has widely been contested, with millions of Kenyans still not yet registered to it, following conflicting and unclear information about the new government project.
