I would like reiterate that the goal of this thread is not mere comparisons but an attempt to share more information about our cities. Comparisons are natural and expected so I will indulge you.*As far as surbubs are concerned it will be rediculous to claim that we have better than urs, but wen we come to skyscrapers and modern tall buildings, i can safely say we have more in dar than in Nairobi(i stand to be corrected though). I thnk nairobi should be ashamed to compete with dar es salaam cz not so many years back u guys were very far ahead of Dar,Im sure this is a disturbing reality to many kenyans that dar has taken a giant leap in modernising it self and in the near future Dar will definetily be on top if not on top already.

I ask a simple question, where are those skyscrapers that you speak of because this thread has been open for close to a year and I am yet to see the astounding skyline you claim.*
There are about 4 skylines on the continent that I would compare with Nairobi's sadly Dar Es Salaam's is not one of them. I look forward to the day we will have actual metros with good infrastructure and homes in EA. I can say for certain that Nairobi is getting there and in less than 5 years it will he a true metro and the best part is this is being replicated in many other Kenyan cities. You have to be in Nairobi to witness the massive infrastructural projects and exciting developments that have made it a magnet for all sorts of multinationals.*
What IS DISTURBING is the fact that many Tanzanians on this forum try to paint a demeaning picture of Kenya and it is exemplified by the reactionary kibera picture poster. They spend so much time bashing Kenya and little time showing what Tanzania has.*
Enough with the talking and porojo! Post pictures!!!
I think even Ndinda has posted several pictures showing a skyline which im sure will answer your question. I dont know what makes u thnk i have not been in Nairobi! it appears u hv not been in Dar lately to see what is going on.
As i said there are some aspect Nairobi is far as ahead and i wouldnt consume my energy to argue about.
There r things that have happened in nairobi the entire region should take it as an example(thika highway in particular).
As for Kibera pictures, personally im not pro-kenyan slams bashing and i apologise on behalf of my bros if they offended u.
But think abt this, if it is a fact tht the gap btn Nairobi and Dar has markedly narrowed in just over a decade, is it too optimistic for a tanzanian to believe in the near future Dar will far ahead?
He posted pictures but I dont see the marvelous skyline that you claim.
I dont mind the Kibera pictures since even Kibera is being upgraded and even when bashing it is honorable to use the complete picture. The general anti Kenya bashing on this forum is open and goes beyond mere pictorials. It seems this forum was set up to create animosity between the two countries.
I was in Dar Es Salaam in December (right around the time the bridge/ road was swept off by the rains) and will be in Dar es Salaam again in two weeks on business. Just to give you more insight, we are the hard hats you will see in the city, under the auspices of your government.
No it is not Njemba! A Tanzanian can dream and be optimistic and hope that in the near future not only Dar but other TZ cities will be further ahead.
We act!
yes not only in dar, we r also doing something in other places as well.
U may go dodoma and visit dodoma university(will have a capacity of 40000) wen finished now its half way, as for infrastructures in the very near future will cover 11000+ km of tarmac road through out Tanzania,we have Kigamboni project(similar to ur konza city)as a matter of fact there r so many things going on in Tanzania, even in our slams r to be face lifted as well(heard of Mchikichini project?).
