Kenyans voted funniest looking in Africa

September 1, 2014

With Kimathi Mutegi

Kenyans were last year voted the funniest looking people in Africa. With 48 participating nations in the Annual Most Beautiful People of Africa Awards, held at the Gregor Theatre in Bloemfontein South Africa, Kenya took the last position, dislodging Zambia and reclaiming the title it held in 2000.
It posted 7 points out of a possible 540. The top position was taken by Rwanda, followed by Cameroon and then Ethiopia as second runners up. The last three positions were Kenya at 48, Zambia at 47, then Gabon, at 46.

The judges said they gave their points based on presentation, physical appearance, grooming, communication and other areas. Coincidentally this came just a week after an article on Kenyans appeared in the Pretorian Bird.
The article, in theentertainment section, claims ‘Kenya has the funniest looking president on earth' (then former president Kibaki), and ‘a VP with a strange looking head' (Kalonzo).

It goes on to say that Kikuyu women and Luo men pose the most weird features. Read this: "Women from the Kikuyu community have small legs, totally no figures, and a little exaggerated heads. They lack good behinds and those who have them look like inflated balloons. They are shaped like pyramids turned upside down.

A big upper frame and an almost invisible lower bit. Luo men on the other side have distorted facial features…say big lips and huge noses or should we call them knobs. Kikuyu men are also disproportional, and most of them are stunted. They walk leaning forward. Plus they have long rusty teeth."

My take: I find the findings baseless and i am shocked that people may devote their time to find out which country has funny looking people!!

Wamekosa soko kabisa, halafu wanadunda mabwana zao. Wameweka kwa katiba yao kuwa mwanaume anaweza oa mwanamke mwingine bila hata kumpa taarifa mke/wake zake.

This is absurd. How the hell is Lupita beautiful, she's ok not beautiful at all. Lupita is a kind of woman that is typically married to a white person not a fellow African. Hata ukiangalia mwanaume mwafrika akioa mzungu lazima huyu mzungu atakuwa useless kwa watu wa kwao au kwa lugha nyingine anaitwa "reject."

Eti kikuyu women look like a pyramid turned upside down...hii imenikumbusha wadada wa kabila moja kasikazini mwa tanzania.

Lupita na "uzuri", nashindwa kuconnect dot. Hivi ukimuattach mtoto wa Kagame hapo, au ukaja ukamuweka Flaviana matata upande wa pili. Aya endeleeni..

Lupita Nyong'o Is New Ambassador For Lancome Paris

Lupita Nyong'o became an ambassador for luxury cosmetics brand Lancome in April, and her first images have been released. This comes days after the 31-year-old actress was featured on the coveted cover of Vogue magazine. In the new ad, Nyong'o's skin is flawless, as she promotes Lancome's Tient Idole Ultra 24H foundation, which is available in 28 shades.
By becoming a brand "ambassadress" for Lancôme, Ms. Nyong'o's career has "totally changed," Ivan Bart, the head of IMG Models, told the New York Times.

The stunner achieved awards and acclaim for her role as a slave named Patsey in last year's Oscar-winning pre-Civil War film, "12 Years a Slave."
Since then, Nyong'o has been on the cover of numerous fashion magazines, including Vogue. On the July Vogue cover, Nyong'o wears a sleeveless purple, black and red patterned dress, the caption for which reads, "Lupita Nyong'o: Her Incredible Breakout Year." Just two months ago, Nyong'o was named "Most Beautiful" by People magazine.

Last year, when asked about how she's dealing with her rising stardom, Nyong'o told People, "A lot of the time it feels quite magical, and I feel it's like an out-of-body experience."

At last year's Academy Awards ceremony, she gave an emotional acceptance speech after winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

"No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid," she said in her inspiring speech.

Her sense of fashion seems to match her talent, as she's been this year's "it" girl in magazines like Elle -- and now Vogue.

When named "Most Beautiful," Nyong'o told People, "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment. I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."

The dark-skinned beauty is certainly a rarity in Hollywood, and she acknowledged that she felt insecure growing up in a world where lighter skin and longer hair are the beauty standards for women. In her interview with People, Nyong'o said that when she was young, beauty was what she saw on television.
"Light skin and long, flowing hair," she said. "Subconsciously, you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess."
However, she said, her mother, Dorothy, always reminded her how beautiful she was. "I finally believed her at some point," Nyong'o said.

To the brainwashed African, beauty is a bleached skin, straight hair and narrow nose.

There is an angle that we must take, tell a namibian whether he has seen an Ethiopian or a kenyan lady and the answer will be a definite yes, accord the same question about a tanzanian lady and........... ummmm.... where are they visible? Whether what is visible to the outside world is enough representation is a topic for another day.

The first time this report came out, i was willing to overlook it. But this is the second time in a row! That really should mean something......hahahaaa.......

Kinachonishangaza tuu kwa mademu wa kikenya unakuta black beauty na sura nzuri tatizo hilo umbo sasa??? Umbo namba 9 halafu zile nyama za tumboni huwa zinatoka wapi aisee na miguu membamba.
