Bidco Africa has launched a multi-million Sunquick Fruit Drink Concentrate production line in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

The move is part of a joint venture between Bidco Africa Limited and CO-RO; a Danish provider of fruit based soft drinks, that operates in over 80 countries worldwide.

Trade CS Betty Maina who presided over the launch on Thursday assured private sectors players of support from the Kenyan government.

“You can be certain you have a listening government which is part of our way to steer the nation and stamp authority that our potential is unmatched. Manufacturing under the Big Four Transformational Agenda is a key driver for economic growth and development by facilitating employment creation, attraction of investment and wealth creation,” she said.

BIDCO Africa Chairman Vimal Shah cited strides that the manufacturing industry has made towards ensuring competitiveness among multinational peers.

“We are seeing disruption in the supply chains and it is an inspiration towards achieving markets that were a reserve in the yesteryears as well as market development. This is a mark of confidence and we are not looking back – in our quest to inspire many more with products that deliver value to the consumers’ needs,” Dr. Shah said.
