Mkuu anti-spyware nyingi zinaweza kudetect keyloggers na kuzi-neutralize eg Norton 360 etc. Ili mtu aweze kupenya kwenye pc yako ambayo ina anti-spyware nzuri ni lazima awe mtaalamu sana sio amateur! Binafsi huwa nikiingia kwenye internet cafe yeyote town kitu cha kwanza kuangalia ni kama ina keylogger au la! Once nikiona kuna keylogger, naangalia news tu then nanondoka zangu. Nimecheki baadhi ya internet cafe mitaa ya kisutu na posta wameweka keyloggers, so be careful!! Poa mkuu siku njema, cheki nimeku-PM
 
Wanaopenda kuona keyloger ikifanya kazi, download hiyo program, click start, halafu endelea ku type. Click stop when u r done.

Baada ya kuhakikisha kwamba inafanya kazi, scan it with your best antivirus/antispyware. Uwezekano mkubwa itakwambia ni clean.

Sasa ambaye bado anaamini antivirus yake huwa inamsaidia kudetect keyloggers zote, pengine abadili kidogo mtazamo wa usalama wake.

Na yule anayeweza kwenda cafe na kugundua kwamba kuna keyloggers, he is one lucky smart person.

Ila nasikia ukisali vizuri kabla hujatumia computer, keyloggers wana sizi ... sina uhakika tho ... 🙂

Its very interesting about keyloggers, one thing to keep in mind is there are 2 kinds of keyloggers and everyone seems to know the first one which is the software, of course some few ant-viruses can detect hidden keyloggers ***any hidden programm working on the background***

The real pain is the hardware keyloggers, i have a good sample attached here, its a vey simple thing attached on the end of keyboard which would look like an extended keyboard, very few people would identify it. ***and no ant-virus would be able to detect this kind of keylogger***

***how to protect your self from these keyloggers?***
I have a very simple way to do that, the answer is to secure a physical acces of your computer, forexample if you wish to touch my computer you would have to have a level 3 clearence card to open my door or one hell of a lock picker ***because i installed my locks my self***, so if you put your pc in a secure place then you won't even have to worry about keyloggers.

***in 2008 july we were able to identify 4 keyloggers in a bank's pcs after we were asked to do a quick survey***

Keyloggers are able to send the collected infos everyday in a certain server, or for some it stores data in a safe location and maybe if an installer is an IT guy doing maintenance every month he/she could easily get what he wants.

***Trust is a very tough thing to have but we are force to take a risk sometimes***

Yep. Hapo nimetumia SetWindowsHookEx ambayo pia inakuruhusu ku-capture mouse events, na vingine.

Kudaka events za clipboard, tumia SetClipboardViewer function ( SetClipboardViewer Function () ), no rocket science.

"kuhakikisha keyloggers haziingi kabisa kwenye computer yako" ndio jinsi ambayo unauhakika itafanya kazi, na ndio jinsi ambayo wengin wanaikimbia. Wanatafuta njiarahisi: antivirus, antikeyloger.
 
Sorry this might sound nasty to you but here is the truth.

You are not protected against any attack provided you have internet connection or you are using free software downloaded from the internet(especially cracked softwares).

Let me give you an example. You searched for PowerDVD player over the internet using google or any other search engine. Then you downloaded the software from a third part site. That alone, do you think you are safe?

Or umedownload software kutoka kwenye legitimate site but ukishainstall hiyo software inakuhitaji u-activate online (which means you have to buy a licence otherwise it will rus as a demo). But with google life is easy. Unafungua google na kutafuta keygen ya PowerDVD. Hapo mkuu hauko safe.

Hizo software huwa zinakuwa embeded na hacking softwares (keyloggers e.t.c). Sasa wewe unaweza kuinstall ukidhani unainstall PowerDVD only but the truth is kuna software nyingine unainstall hapo.

Mie ninachoweza kukushauri ni kuwafanya yafuatayo:

1:Install anti virus na anti spyware (Kaspersky is good, even McAfee 8.07) get rid of free version of security tools coz update zake zinachukuwa muda kutolewa. Plus kep in mind kuwa Hackers are the first people to buy security softwares so that they can understand how to bypass them. And make sure you update everytime.

2. Make a habit of using account which doesnt have admin power. This will protect you over the unexpected clicks over the internet which might install unwanted software.

3. Make sure you have installed legitimate software. This will protect you againt those software which are embeded keyloggers or softwares which utilizes buffer overrun attacks. Even rootkits as well.

For sure, you cant protect yourself 100% from any attack. you just do your best to reduce them.
