Police officers in Bondo, Siaya County, are presently holding a 20-year-old man accused of assaulting his mother’s lover.

David Omondi is alleged to have beaten and seriously injured the man claimed to have been dating his mother at Sinapanga village on the outskirts of Bondo town.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the Chairman of Community Policing Committee in Bondo sub-county Juma Abuko said the suspect confronted the man demanding to know why he was dating his mother yet he knew she was already married.

According to Mr. Abuko, before the man could respond to the allegations, Mr. Omondi pounced on him with kicks and blows and beat him up, seriously injuring him in the process.

The fracas reportedly attracted members of the public who rushed the man to Bondo sub-county hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Mr. Omondi was later arrested and taken to Bondo Police Station where he is being held awaiting to be charged with assault.
